The offense is finally unpredictable and utilizes all our players. The jet sweep is huge element that needs to be defended every play.

The challenge is to get better weapons. Besides the obvious QB position, we're weak or at best unproven at WR. We'll be light at RB too and need more oLine depth. But the scheme is exactly what we need. I'm excited!

It was interesting to see how adding a little bit of creativity to the offense produced better results instead of trying to run up the middle on the best program in the country.

Funny that adding that creativity actually enabled us to run up the middle.

I’m starting to like his offense the more I see. With the proper QB, I think this system can roll. Our running game does not work like it did last night if not for the misdirection and shifting that’s happening.

I could have done without that.

I’m not following. Clearly the best way to beat Alabama is to run it up the middle repeatedly at their four 6’4” 260 lb linebackers and their three 6’5” 330 lb linemen. Gotta test their manhood and attack their strengths right?

When you have a shaky QB whom you don't trust with short passes then you resort to whatever's next in the basket.

Completely agree. I've said the main reason I was excited about the Bama game was just to see what his offense would look like. I was impressed with the play calling and disappointed with the execution. 4 more games and bowl practices and another off season and I think we're going to see some really cool stuff next year.

Except for the disappearing position groups I'd agree with you. He isnt the magician everybody made him out to be, but I think one or two more years and we may have an actual offense.

I'm definitely not in the group that thinks he gets a head coach gig next year.

If you get a QB with a decent skill set in Canada's offense, LSU would have throttled Bama last night. The kid tries but Etling really did look like a 3rd string from Purdue last night.

Ok. 3 of 4 plays? It did happen.

Maybe I missed what everyone else saw. Looked like the same offense that we ran vs everyone else. Only difference to me was the O line played awesome and that gave those plays a better chance of succeeding

I agree... Yet The jet sweep was not that effective against the guru Saban....... Now looking forward to the rest o the season.... I want to see how this team rebounds next week.......

He did a lot of things right and we put up more yards on that D than in years past. There were numerous opportunities to hit a wide open Chark or Guice that were missed so scheme wise he did something right.

That being said, the jet sweeps when Bama was setting the edge so well, and the weird timing for the Wild Tiger with DW (we saw it midway in the 3rd quarter and only ran it a couple times when it seemed fairly effective) left me scratching my head.

3 out of 5 was the most frequent and that was our field goal drive. So it was somewhat successful. Three in a row, which is what you originally said, never happened.

It was the same offense we've run all year. Who ever said it wasn't? The difference was it was actually pretty successful against a team we've had major problems moving the ball against recently. Like you said, we executed up front better than we have all year. QB and receiver just didn't make the plays necessary to get the win.

There's optimism because it was obvious that there is really only one area where we're deficient. As opposed to last year where it seemed like the entire offense was deficient.

I think he will now as will Aranda. There's work to do but there's a vision and a path now.
