Go ahead and tell me how JL/JJ gave us the best chance to win.
I understood the decision to go this route but I never agreed with it.
Just imagine Mett with another year of SEC experience.
Mett wasn't ready at that time. We still had miles and stud running the offense. He still wouldn't have had any real QB coaching that he needed. Cameron has made all the difference with. Mett is focused on his job as QB, worked very hard to improve on the small things that make a big difference, and also learned and bought into Cams system. He has matured a great deal from last season to this season. He was always more talented than the other two, but still wasn't ready at that time for other reasons.

Our QB play made basically no positive difference in any game in 2011, except for MAYBE when we benched Lee in Tuscaloosa and Bama wasn't ready for the Jefferson option.
We won every single game, except for both Bama contests, handily.
I don't see how it could have possibly hurt to give Mett the snaps and experience; at the very least it would have saved us from Jordan Jefferson on 1/9/12.
Now, had we hired Cameron in 2011? It's probably our dynasty everyone is talking about instead.
It's amazing how close we are to being the ones who went back-to-back. You could almost narrow it down to any number of 2 plays/instances. And that's without a shred of a fricking offense to speak of.

But if he had the year last year that he is having this year he might be in the pros now and we'd be breaking in a true freshman QB.
Then we have both sides of the ball on the same "rebuilding" schedule... And I'd be ok with that

Jarrett Lee was treated very poorly throughout his time at LSU
ok.
Just so you know, our redzone scoring was abysmal last year, but it wasnt in 2011, wonder why? a qb that could move.

Yes it did, they didnt turn the ball over except for in the bama games. Thats a huge fricking positive. Mett would have been deer in headlights just like last year. Fumble king cus he couldnt feel the pressure in the pocket.

Anyone who thought otherwise really didn't have a clue.

It was fairly well known at the time that Mett didn't come in ready to put in the work necessary to earn the starting job. You're not going to un-seat an incumbent on potential alone. In addition, there were also strong rumblings of him having to work overtime to maintain eligibility for 2011, which seemed to be confirmed by Miles "I'm kind of mad at him" comment that summer.
IMO, the biggest impact Cameron has made on Mett is lighting a fire under him to improve his work-ethis
