With Mo surely leaving, can Simon step up and be the next LSU shut down corner, so that TM7 can still do his thing?

Not sure. I think Brooks is the one we really need to look to for that.

I've noticed Simon's weakness is quick slants over the middle. He has been solid all year. I think he definitely can be a shutdown CB. I haven't seen him give a big play up all year. The better question is who can come in for that third CB spot and allow TM7 to slide over to the nickel in obvious pass situations to blitz.

yeah, this is kinda what i was getting at...I also was intrigued at what TM7 did when he was at safety tonight, he played very well...

I think Simon has the highest potential out of our CBs except for Claiborne. 6'3, rangy, and a great cover guy. But, he is not very physical and needs to work on catching. Hes not there yet, but i hope he will be the guy come next year and i think he will be ready. He is just going to get bigger, faster, and better during the off season.

I've got high hopes for Jenkins to be the new T. Simon when T. Simon becomes the new Mo Claiborne, but we'll see.

Between David Jenkins and Ronnie Vinson. I'm guessing Jenkins, anticipating his debut next year.

IMHO, Simon is already a shutdown corner. He doesn't quite have Claibornes ball skills, but it's really hard to beat Simon on anything but a crossing route.

A 6'3 player with the hips to play CB at a high level is just ridiculous. Something of an anomaly. I almost feel bad for WRs against this guy. He's as fluid as a 5'9 guy. Honestly I think Simon is the most underrated CB in CFB. Dude is a straight-up freak.
