socialism. plus the country is tired of the SEC winning all the time and they want non SEC teams to win more no matter how they do it. the future of SEC dominance is in question even if we are the best because of scheduling. just look at our own conference where florida and lsu had tougher schedules than bama and georgia. one game can make a differnce.

SOS is perfect right now. The computers calculate it however they do, but it is a major component of all of the rankings. Basically there are three factors in the computer SOS, win loss, and home and away.

Voters figure it into their votes which is why nd is behind the other undefeated teams.

To be top ranked :

1. Be undefeated
2. Be Notre Dame or from a 'Big' conference.
3. Have a tough schedule.

In other words , no losses, supersedes anything, unless you are from a 'small'
conference.

It's not about the who is the 'best' team! Never has.

LSU has lost 2 times. Three other teams have zero losses. 1 team that beat you has only one loss. So what's the question?

And the reason all the pundits and Bama fans give for losing to the Aggies (other than Johnny Football)? They had to play a very tough, physical game against LSU the week prior. IMO strength of schedule makes a HUGE difference. You get beat down physically and emotionally in those games. Bama has to get up for two games this whole year. They lost one of them. Their schedule next year looks about the same. Just ain't right.

all SEC MNC last year definitely put a big anti-SEC bias out there. i'd say one of the biggest problems with the BCS is the coaches poll. it is a joke. those guys only look at the 12 teams on their schedule.

Is that how Auburn got royally screwed in 2004, because if I recall ... their SOS was brutal.

I could be wrong but I remember their schedule being incredibly soft.

No way they were jumping Texas or USC anyways. There is really zero argument.
