I'm trying to envision a scenario that would allow this to take place. (Just assume LSU football prospers this year.)

And for added pleasure, it would also be great if the contract with Aramark is terminated without penalty to LSU.

Alleva will not get fired as long as the athletic department is making a profit.

the ONLY thing that maters to the "powers that be" are the revenues brought in by the sports programs and not the product put out there from ANY of the sports programs

It's part of the "what if" concept of the thread. Is there a way to get rid of Alleva, and get rid of Aramark, even though LSU football does really well this year?

The LSU athletic department would make a profit without an AD.

The AD can make a profit larger or smaller, but the department is always profitable.

That would imply that our higher up administration actually has a brain and a set of balls, neither of which they have.

Has anyone ever thought that Alleva did his job and hired Jimbo only to get shot down by JBE and President King?

I get the next search the next year was bad. But maybe he was told what to do. Just sayin.

Miles was fired early enough that Alleva had ample time to come up with a list of potential candidates. Apparently, this list only included 3 names. That's unforgiveable. I don't think Herman ever really wanted to come to BR. He used LSU as leverage to get his dream job in Austin. Jimbo, on the other hand, would've taken the job.

When Special Ed gets the axe, and it will come sooner rather than later, Alleva will promote Aranda to interim head coach (which I would be ok with). However, we have to have other viable candidates to consider as well.

And our Lacrosse team is a club sport so there is not much damage throwing them under the bus.

I think Alleva's contract ends in January. It has yet to be extended.

That may be so at LSU; however, only a handful of university athletic departments are profitable.

His contract will not be renewed in 2019. He’s as good as gone and will not make another hire at LSU.
