But he's been a college OC and HC as well, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Quite a bit of experience at that: 10 years as an asst. and 5 as a college head coach. Granted, it's been 11 years since he's been in the college scene, but he has more than enough experience teaching at the college level to know what he's getting into. The trends and schemes may have evolved, but football is fundamentally the same game. I'm definitely hopeful that Cam's the man.

Only thing I don't like about this hire is he will stay at LSU 2 years MAX with any kind of success. If he isn't successful, Miles isn't going to make a move on his buddy.
NFL coordinator coming in is nice but some guys can't coach college kids. Some OCs try to force their philosophy on these guys and it's too complex for them to understand with little adjustments to strength. That's what I'm worried about...
That's certainly a risk. Hopefully we'll get some assurance during whatever press is done. I don't like that he was interviewing with the Jets a few weeks ago, but perhaps he's decided to give college a try again. Hopefully he'll like it and we'll enjoy a quality innovative OC...

I like doing blind resumes. Put up the following two rankings in terms of percentile using profootballreference.com.
Coach 1 (11 yrs): W/L (66%); Yds: (56); Pts: (66); Off. Giveaways: (75); Rush Att.: (71), Rush Yds.: (75); Rush TDs; (82); Rush Y/A (67); Fewest fumbles (68), Pass Att. (40); Pass Yds. (44); Pass Tds (55); Fewest INT (73); Net Yards per pass attempt (55); Cat. Avg (63). 10 categories over 60, 5 categories over 70, 1 category over 80.
Coach 2 (14 yrs.): W/L (64%); Yds: (55); Pts: (50); Off. Giveaways: (54); Rush Att.: (60), Rush Yds.: (54); Rush TDs; (51); Rush Y/A (52); Fewest fumbles (42), Pass Att. (54); Pass Yds. (57); Pass Tds (56); Fewest INT (62); Net Yards per pass attempt (51); Cat. Avg (55). 3 categories over 60, 0 categories over 70, 0 category over 80.
Coach 1 is Cam Cameron. Coach 2 is Jon Gruden. Now, obviously Jon Gruden has been an excellent had coach and Cam Cameron hasn't but most football fans would be shocked if they objectively looked at the production of their respective offenses throughout their careers.

Let's see a better than average NFL Offensive Coordinator having the same position with our team. Seems to me like its worth a try.

He would be the most qualified OC LSU has ever had.
I mean you could make an argument he is over qualified.
He would be an excellent hire

gratuitous bump to promote facts over uninformed conjecture or cherry picking of stats...
