Call of the year. Tubby took his time out with him to the locker room, thinking he was gonna get to use it to ice the kicker. By the way, if anyone wants to look up Colt David's stats PRIOR to that game, you may see why Les didn't wanna chance the FG without trying that play first. He still had time to kick the FG anyway...but as we all know, it wasn't necessary...and the rest is history.

I was yelling for a timeout. In the interview after the game, Les was talking as if he thought there was more time left on the clock. Glad it worked out though

he was right...

there should have been more time left on the clock after the play, but the clock operator was too busy going nuts with the rest of the stadium

Scoop, you come over here and bring your flaming crap over here to help keep shite stirred up. You know damned well if one of us would go over to the SEC Rant and bring up some crap on yall you would be one of the first SOB's that woukd be screaming to high heaven.

This crap Chicken you need to stop this crap unless you want it to continue. Just turn your head on this crap when you threaten to ban us for flaming! Enough is enough and you need to stop it or take no flaming out of the rules so we can all do it!

Unless you give Bama favortism just like the SEC offices with the bad call REF's. This happened soon to be three years ago and it does not have anything to do with this year unless you want to keep shite stirred up like those from Bama wants it because it helps them!

Absolutely nothing wrong with that call. It's a good call actually.. and well executed.

This video link was posted on the SEC board and I couldn't help but think of the Ole MIss game last year. If this had been an incomplete pass would it have resulted in the same conversation that errupted after the Ole Miss game last year?

Not at all. Clock time added back on the dropped pass. Time out called. FG doable. Crazy call, helluva throw and catch. But not OM.

It was a typical Miles call that year. He got arrogant, but it worked out for him. In reality though, it was more on Flynn there. He took his sweet arse time breaking the huddle and getting the play started.

Coaching blunder that got bailed out? Perhaps. QB being way to casual in that situation? Certainly.

I thought it was a stupid call period, TD or not, but it worked to LSU's benefit.

Not a stupid call at all. Get over it. The ball was snapped with 8 secs left and caught with 3 secs left. The clock should've been stopped at 3 or a minimum of 2 secs. Still time to kick the field goal.

Wow, you're brilliant. I've never thought of that. You should be our next coach. Wait. Unless, they pick off the 2pt conversion, run it back for 2, then make a long return that ends in a penalty and kick a field goal to win. There was a second left. kick the PAT, and trust your special teams.

A second left with the clock stopped. What's the problem?

Flynn did take a little too long, but considering the situation and how far out the field goal already was, he had to make sure the coverage was right for the call, everyone was aligned, etc.

He is not an LSU fan. He is a shite stirring troll with nothing better to do in his life than stir shite on the net.

I think we all would be surprised at the number of trolls running wild on these boards.

I agree. It was a reckless and moronic call. We were very lucky it worked out.

I'm wondering if the refs had been bought off in that game like they were for LSU-BAMA in 2009 would they have ruled he made the catch out of bounds and stolen the game from LSU? And, they would have confirmed the call upon review, even though everyone watching knew what happened.

He could've missed it....which was more likely than it being picked off.

This is the real argument, but it's obscured by the tards who think the clock was going to run out. Also, the wasted time was Matt Flynn's fault, not Les Miles. Miles could have called a timeout, though.

It was the right call. It was the high percentage call. You get the percentage opportunity to make the TD PLUS you get the percentage opportunity to advance the ball for a shorter FG attempt PLUS you still get the percentage opportunity to kick the field goal because time is still on the clock.

All of the that AND Auburn was not expecting that call at all.

(% TD + % advance ball) + (% make field goal) > (% make field goal)

Flynn should have expedited the play a little more. He let the clock get a little low.
