Yes, I remember that about Brown. That's why I respected him so much and enjoyed rooting for him. From what I gather from following KentuckySportsRadio (I grew up in KY but attended LSU), Calipari is similar, though he doesn't have the length of career, so I wouldn't say he has done as much, but I do think they are similar personalities and have similar commitments to their players and communities.

The Tigers beat a very good team last night. Let's hope they can maintain that intensity going forward.

LSU was coached ready. KY couldn't overcome that. Really gave LSU their props.

We really were, and that's not been a given this year, but CJJ brought it last night.

Must have been channelng his old bosses David vs. Goliath Kentucky hate.

If you want to know what kind of person his players thought Dale Brown was, one image will stick out in my mind:

When Shaq had his goofy Shaqtastic retirement speech, one man he invited to sit with him: Dale Brown. Dale might have had his shortcomings as a coach and maybe he didn't tow the NCAA line all the time, but he did right by his players.

I saw that during the game. I thought that was a technical if a coach does that.

Speaking of the push by him of his player.

It was a classy statement...I wouldn't go any further than that in describing his character.

Did Cal ever address the bizarre ending where they didn't foul?

I do not have a problem with him, or what he does, if anyone can blame him they should be banned for ignorance. He is not a bad coach either X's and O's, obviously is a tireless recruiter. Do not know anything about his personal life but I certainly can not see him as a scumbag.

+1
ignorance is amazing

Dale Brown was a motivator extrordinare... Ron Abernathy was the x's and o's guy. I saw some knocks on Calipari's on court presence and behavior from Tuesday night - Dale was way better than Cal on the sideline. I've seen DB run onto the court when his team was down on the score and stomp his shoes at at Ref, get a T called, and be up by 10 pts about 5 min later...
