It's not an issue for me b/c it's not a real comparison. End of story.

I get that, but yall get triggered way too easily about that stuff.

You are also probably ok with men participating in women's sports.

What makes you think that lmao. What a crazy assumption to make, from me saying yall are getting very triggered over the fact that Pistol Pete no longer holds the all time point record for a college basketball player anymore. It’s not a knock on The Pistol or means that I think women can compete with men or something like that lol.

Personally, I can give two fricks either way

Not a relevant post on this site. Couldn’t care less about CC. Go post on the Iowa board.

He still holds the record. It's not the same game. If it is, why isn't she playing on the men's team?

Pete had 4,400+ points if you include his 19 game freshman season and 5,700 points if you add the 3 point line that was non existent when he played. Try to beat that!

Pete did things 50 years ago with a basketball not related to scoring that has not been seen since.

Records were meant to be broken, hats off to her. As others have stated, who gives a frick anymore than that?

I look at it this way. If I had to be the captain of a pick-up team and the outcome resulted in my family dying or living, I’m taking Pistol Pete Maravich over Caitlin Clark every time. Now, tell me you’re doing something differently, and then tell me how her achievement should in ANY way be equated to his.

Well … right now, today… I’m taking Caitlyn. Not due to any of her accomplishments, but (and with all due respect to Pete) - she’s still alive so I think she gives me a better chance today.

That said - Pete was a better basketball player than she will ever be. She’s the best women’s player to play 4 years of college ball though and has scored more points than any other D1 player. I do feel to quantify it though, you have to include Pete’s Freshman year as he was on the freshman team of a D1 program so still a D1 player.

Apples to Oranges though

Thank you. That’s probably the nicest thing I’ve heard all day.

It’s obviously been a slow day

And calling yourself an LSU fan. I’m not “triggered” but can’t understand why people think she’s ahead in the scoring. Add in Maravich’s 771 as a freshman, even without the 3 point line, and then come talk to me.

Congratulations to the young lady. Isn't that why we watch sports? We like to see gifted athletes perform.
I hope we beat them again in the finals.
