We go by the entire season, not cherry-picked stats.
Then you have the football IQ of a 4-year old.

You can not possibly ignore the time it takes for WRs and QBs to get in synch (unless you are oblivious to it - which may be the case)

Last four games of the regular season:

Burrow (Bama, Arkansas, Rice, A&M)

78/122 (63.9%); 956 Yards, 6 TD/1 INT

Tua (LSU, State, Citadel, Auburn)
82/116 (70%); 1,123 yards, 12 TD/2 INT

Sorry... you can't change the last 4 games to suit your bias.

I guess he wants you to use the postseason games for Bama since they were against much better competition.

Just the last four games (meaning last 4 games)

Tua also had the advantage of a better O scheme, better O-Line, and better receivers.

then how the hell do freshmen QBs or transfer QBs ever play well early in the season?

It's all really a silly discussion to begin with, but I get it it's the off season. I agree with your premise that Burrow got better and there's no question he had a nice 4 game stretch. However, you do also have to consider the competition. As we've all said, this year will answer a lot of questions.

OK

Burrow (Arkansas, Rice, A&M, UCF):
81/121 (66.9%); 1166 yard, 10td/1int

Tua (Auburn, UGA, OU, Clemson)
81/118 (68.6%); 1101 yards, 12 TD/4 INT

Do with these stats what you will.

Who would you say had a tougher final 4 opponents out of these two QB?

I honestly can't believe this discussion is even happening right now.

They get there in January or before Spring practice - I don't know many transfer QBs who played better than Joe and who missed Spring ball.

And you also have to consider the scheme, O-Line, Receivers, and time for all to synch up (unless you only want to look at football like a bookkeeper).

Burrow definitely has the chance to be the best qb in the sec this season. With all of the talent surrounding him and the new offensive/qb friendly system we have incorporated now, he has a great opportunity to put up huge numbers and get the recognition he deserves. Burrow has a lot of talent and I believe his skill set is perfect for our new offense this year. Geaux Burrow!

If the thread topic was "Burrow is the best transfer QB who missed Spring ball in the SEC. True or False?" you would have made some valid points here.

If the topic was what QB had the best season STATS, you'd have had a slam dunk.

But some observers of the game look FAR past these 5th-grade level rudimentary "statistics".

Who's ignoring it?

Tua is the better QB. Everyone on the planet can see that but you. Tua was better as a freshman that Burrow was last year.

Some players are just plain better than others. That's life. It's nothing to get angry about.

Speaking of absurd.

What he lacks in talent, he makes up in leadership and other intangibles. And he's very talented.

He wont be drafted higher than Fromm or Tua and his ceiling is much lower than both at the pro level. But at the college level? not so fast my friend.

LSU was supposed to be 6-6 last yr and the only real difference was the QB play. We knew the D would be strong and we knew the RB spot was the weakest in several years. What we didnt know was that the QB play was going to be stellar and the OL play was going to be pitiful.

This 6-6 to NY6 bowl winner is Chapter 1 of the Joe Burrow-LSU story.

We will look back at this post in February and see who had the most complete college QB. When everything is factored in, including dependability and health issues, I still like our guy. But thats me and Im biased.

I've seen some delusional people, but you take the cake.

Burrow is the best QB in the damn country now.

Everyone here likes Burrow, but you make people have to say these things about him because you're obnoxiously delusional about him.
