No one with basic knowledge of the passing game can deny this fact:
QB stats are HEAVILY affected by team play and scheme.
Unitas was a great QB. He won 12 games and lost 22 as a starter at Louisville. He was 3-6 as a Senior.
Brady and Montana each lost 3 games in their Senior seasons. Again, Unitas lost 6. Even three of the best QBs in the history of football could not carry their teams to better than 3 losses.
And one could argue that they were the 3 VERY best of all time (or damn close).
You'd have to be an idiot to deny the above stated fact. Madking is an idiot.

No one is denying that Unitas and Joe Montana aren't incredible QBs.
They had stellar careers in the pros and also in college. I doubt anyone here will dispute that.
The topic here is Burrow. Don't get me wrong, the kid is a warrior, the kid is a very good QB but is he better than Tua? I hate to say it but no. Doesn't mean he's anything to sneeze at when comparing the two but Tua's accuracy is amazing. Believe me, I wish it wasn't. I'm the last person that would dump on any player for LSU.
You're being completely one sided in this "debate," if you even want to call it that.
You're completely entitled to your one sided argument, but others will and have point out that there are better QBs in the SEC. Again, it's not a knock on Burrow at all.
It's completely unrealistic and also presumptuous to say Burrow will be a top 5 pick. There's little chance that happens. Again, not a knock on him by any means, there are other QBs that are in the SEC and are a little better.
And I know you'll ask so here are my thoughts on Burrow: The kid is a warrior. He will not shy away from hits, he's the leader of the team and in short order has gotten the trust of his teammates, (after one season). Barring injury, he should and I think he will have a good career in the pros. He's smart, he's already graduated so right now football is his curriculum, just to put in collegiate terms since he's still at a university. He's also very football smart. We're darn lucky to have him and I give O credit to getting him to come to LSU.

I'm saying Burrow will be a top-5 QB. The 5th QB taken this year was in the 3rd round. Last year, all 5 were in the 1st.
If Burrow throws at 67%+ for 3500+ yards & Accounts for 35+ TDs (pass & rush). Then he'll be a lock for top-5, IMO. And I think these stats are below what he'll do.
In Joe's case, scheme is by far the biggest variable for the '19 season. The Spread/RPO is a stats machine. And, many NFL teams are aggressively looking to get into the Spread/RPO. Plus, Joe grew up running the S/RPO.
Would Joe be top-5 with last season's stats? No way. But that was then and this is now.

Tagavailoa is still there, Fromm is still there, they're both excellent QBs.
