A 2015 Perfect Game and Louisville Slugger All-American ... batted .414 in 2015 with 27 RBI, 14 doubles, three triples and three homers, while also posting a 9-1 mark and a 2.66 ERA with 68 strikeouts in 47 innings on the mound ... recorded 10 strikeouts against Teurlings Catholic in the 2015 Class 4A championship game, earning MVP honors ... earned 2015 All-State honors and was named District MVP ... posted a .376 career batting average and a 16-3 career pitching record with a 1.85 ERA over three seasons ... fired three career no-hitters, a St. Thomas More school record ... batted .379 as a junior, striking out only nine times in 103 at-bats ... ... also played quarterback for the St. Thomas More HS football team.

Why in the hell is Mainieri not using him as a pitcher? Jeez - 3 no-hitters and a career 1.85 ERA. There have been a number of great pitchers in the SEC who were also good hitters and played in he field when they were not pitching. I am not thinking starter, but possibly in a relief role. Depth! We could have used some in the post season last year!

PM isn't a huge fan of two-way players.

There's a reason he switched to OF once he stepped foot on campus.

Maybe he should be more of a fan of National Championships!

In the summer of 2015 he was told he had the opportunity to see the field faster as an outfielder. He, Beau Jordan, and Duplantis were all competing for the final two spots in LF and RF respectively.

When Cody Ducote injured his hand before spring ball of 2016 he spring boarded into the main reserve role.

Are you saying he wouldn't see the field as only our second left-handed arm in the pen behind Devall?

Our neighbor played for LSU for the last two years and said Manieri has his favorites and if you aren't one ....then forget playing. The players loved the Asst. Coaches but only a few were fond of Manieri. They adored the Pitching coach and would have done anything for him. They also said M is not the same in the locker room that everyone else sees in public.

It's hard to say...he's never seen the mound in college, but it would be safe to say he'd progress into a nice situational lefty.

Edit: that one inning a season ago in the 9th, forgot he came in late.

He also wanted the chance to play everyday.

Dude, that's what kids say when they aren't good enough to play. PM cares about winning. He's going to put the guys out there who he feels give him the best chance to do that.

He's a dick when the cameras aren't on him but so was Skip.

To me Brennan Breaux is the 2nd best defender in the outfield and a very very versatile athlete. He'll start his junior-senior seasons.

I only casually follow baseball, but isn't he known for throwing his players under the bus to the media? So he's much worse than that in reality?

If by favorites you mean he likes the ones that will win him games over ones that won't then yes he plays his favorites by doesn't every coach?
