We have an abundance of OFs.

It's not like the program would be in trouble without Laird.

We suffered last season because Mainieri couldn't get enough good hitters into the program quick enough, and now we're suffering a little bit this year because of the timing of the pitching turnover.

But recruiting for college baseball is a nightmare of a task. I've given Mainieri some grief in the past about his inability to recruit some heavy hitters at the corner positions (1B/3B/LF/RF/DH), but he's come through this year.

It looks like he's finally got this college baseball recruiting thing figured out.

I didnt say everyone else sucked, just that we havent had a good class with these kind of bats in it for a while.
