Lots of teams there from all over and multiple age groups. Definitely watching New Orleans Elite with Jarrell Martin and Craig Victor.

Kirby's originally from ms and was ms state's lead recruiter before he left for gtown I believe. There's no doubt in my mind that he and JJ had a relationship before this hire with all the years Jones spent at LSU. That may have been the biggest factor in Kirby returning to the gulfsouth area. I wonder if being passed over by ms state in favor of a guy whose a virtual unknown doesn't also give Kirby the added incentive to come on down and help build one of their biggest rivals into a winner. That guy is going to be difficult to recruit against in the state of ms, no question. His situation is so similar to Johnny's, the way he was passed over the first time around until the administration realized that the best fit for the program has been right under their noses. This move will help Kirby position himself as the next head coach at Ms State or even Ole Miss, IMO. He may not be with us for very long unfortunately.

I think JJ is really busting his arse to get this program turned around and turned around in a hurry. I believe he is taking a very strategic approach selecting his assistants. I also believe that LSU must be opening the check book to lure some of these coaches in (about damn time) if JJ can keep this up and his assistants have the continued success recruiting as they have had at there previous stops the talent will be here. I think JJ is creating a lot of excitement already with the moves he has made. I don't remember Brady or TJ getting bball fans so excited about the season this early into their job. Great job so far and keep up the hard work Johnny!

Also recruits Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Landed Otto Porter from Missouri fror Georgetown as well.

Everybody is in Little Rock this weekend. N.O.'s 14U AAU team (Khalea Turner) is #1 in the nation. I think Thon Maker is there too. The Harrison twins from Texas are playing in 17U bracket.

Safe to say this is the first time I've ever been excited about LSU basketball in April. What a great pick-up. This might be a bit of an upgrade from Donny Guerinoni and Brent Scott. Gayle Hatch, though... I dont know how we replace him...
