The UK game tells me all I need to know about how they "attempted" to develop Harris after the AU game. It was ALL about Jennings no matter what and they didn't care what happened...There is no logical explanation to see Harris disappear after the way he played the first half of the season compared to Jennings who was still a trainwreck over and over and over.

Wow.

It seems like some Tiger fans think athletic departments are run like soap operas. I'm glad we have actual professionals running ours, and not some French Quarter drama queens.

The coaches didn't see what they needed to see from Harris in practices, so he didn't see much of the field. The coaches' actual livelihoods (not just their self-esteem) depend on the football team winning games. They're going to do what they think is best to win football games TODAY, not next year.

Why is this so hard for people to understand?

I don't get it either. I just assume people love drama.

yet the "rant" absolutely KNOWS BH is the better option. most of the guys blasting miles and Cameron don't have a clue about how football works nor do they have a clue why the staff went with AJ over BH.

i'm greatly disappointed in BH. disappointed in him not being as good as I thought he was. BUT, he's had one year and has plenty of time to improve. i'll bet 99% of LSU fans are on his side too. I do have some admiration for AJ though. the kid battled. he competed. he's doing the best he can and I damn sure support him when he's out there.

Oh really, 3-4 more games? LSU won 8 games this season.

LSU beat Ole Miss by scoring a grand total of 10 points and only giving up 7

They beat Kentucky by scoring a grand total more than 3 points. They win either game with Harris at QB.

They beat A&M by holding them down on defense and running all over their putrid defense and still only scored 23 points.

Outside of maybe UF (doubtful still) and Wisconsin, what other games does LSU lose? What about the fact that their defense nearly beat Bama despite a horrid offense showing in the passing game? OR how about perhaps they beat MSU seeing as Harris' ability matched their weaknesses defense?

LSU isn't going 4-8 or 5-7 with Harris. They likely at worst lost one more game.

There is a real chance that the running game (our only chance of winning this year) would have suffered. Also, while Jennings would have probably made more plays, he very easily could have made more negative plays as well in the passing game.

The casual fan doesn't realize the role that the QB plays in the running game with respect to understanding the defensive fronts and making the proper adjustments at the line. Furthermore, they don't understand that a QB who doesn't understand how to account for pass rushers in the passing game destroys the offense with negative plays. They see Harris sitting back against a team that is so inferior that it can't put pressure on the QB...or a team that's in prevent defense and assume it's all going to be the same. Then you watch the Auburn game and realize the impact of having a QB who makes mental mistakes pre-snap. It results in constant protection breakdowns and a defense who is very willing to bring pressure. All of the arm talent in the world (which is what Harris has) doesn't overcome a QB who is constantly on the run.

The bottom line is that LSU didn't have a QB in 2014. Personally, I thought Harris needed to play more in an attempt to push his development forward for 2015. Anyone who assumed we would have been better in 2014 is making a huge leap, IMO.

I'd be willing to bet that the offensive staff wants Harris to get the job more than anyone. They just realize that he needs to gain a fundamental understanding of the basics before that can happen.

I think the fear is that Brandon will play better than AJ again this Spring/Summer, and still not get the playing time come reg season. This has been the history, I mean mystery of a Miles led team.

I don't blame Harris for leaving if he can't beat out future heisman finalists Jennings.

AJ is the future..deal with it

And as many here say Harris is heads above AJ.
Did they both play at auburn?
How did their stats compare?
AJ QBR 41.1
BH QBR 6.8

AJ 5/10 8.4 avg
BH 3/14 4.1 avg

Fair has nothing to do with football.
Beat the other guy then you play.

Use New Mexico State AND Miss. State.

B. Harris's high school coach should have got off his arse and taught the kid how to take center exchanges, read defenses and watch game film. Maybe then he would have been better prepared for a pro style offense.

If the coach really expected the kid to play and play well the first year at an sec power school, then he is an idiot.

Odds are that we are probably looking at JJ and Lee Part II. Same patterns repeating themselves.
If so, Harris may be wasting his time at LSU.
No matter how pathetic Jennings is on the field, Harris gets NO shot. Same thing happened on 1/12. Did Lee get a shot that game? NO - just like Harris got no shot against Arkansas.
Seriously - Why would Miles change how he has handled the QB for years?
Anybody thinks he is going to wake up tomorrow morning with a new philosophy?

Again, if AJ had played well few would complain. No one played well.

Fans here are much better coaches than the ones LSU has in place.

I love Brandon Harris and hope he kicks arse this year.
I love his attitude and he loves LSU.

Fact is if he isn't ready yet he isn't.
Have to trust the coaches on that call since they are spending all the time with the QB's and we aren't .

It was a joke relax........I never under any circumstance want to see LSU. Brandon Harris will either start are be gone at the end of next to never be heard from again. If he can't beat out Jennings for whatever reason then tell me one school he coukd start at????
