Someone knows football though. Have to look at the style of play.
Carson dominated his era. Best I’ve ever seen. We played with Crowton and Fisher for some of those guys which means we passed a lot more.
What was his targets to catch ratio.
LaFell dropped a shite load of big passes including TDs in big moments. That’s the eye test.

You probably started remembering football in the late 80’s are Most. Can’t remember people like Eric Martin or Davis.
Certainly don’t know who the frick Carson was.

Y’all are ignorant. That’s not your fault.
fricking Michael Clayton was shite against a little Livonia team when in school. Dude was a string and did alright. Not much of a pro fwiw.
Devry dropped more passes than anyone in football including pros.
I love the Saints and never miss games. Damn drew would not throw to him as much towards the end.

anyone who posts something like this on here will always catch a lot of shite...

however, if you made that post without copying it from somewhere, you are pretty damn knowledgeable.

Did you just rotflmao at the other poster for saying Lafell is a top 5 wr in every statistical category for LSU WRs (which is factual) and then make up your own WR categories?

Made this one tho. AND was highly considered the fastest man in the NFL for years; and played the deep ball very well for the Saints. In fact, Devery was paid VERY WELL for burning DB’s as a pro.

Michael Clayton? Nah.

That’s just purely asinine and obtuse.

As a WR Clayton was sure-handed and prolific at LSU. He was also the gold standard of downfield run blocking. And you certainly wanted no part of him on ST.

Excellent WR and an even better football player overall.

It would be more believable to me if OBJ were on the “electric” list and Clayton was on the dependable list. Disparaging Clayton in any regards is laughable at best.

Left a few off, probably the best ever at LSU, Wendell Davis says hello. Ask Tommy Hodson who he thinks is the best.
Look at Hodson's stats with and without Davis.

No. Speech therapy. Here's the link. Someone can post the pic from it. I'm out of time.

all from memories. Saw them all play. Martin was money as was Davis. Carson was the best.

damn. Forgot about Kennison: those dark years sucked the life out of me. He was electric especially in the return game.

Go watch Davis and Martin and Carson and see what sure handed means. In fact, watch Martin catch over the middle in traffic with LBs on him for the Saints. Clayton shied away from contact over the middle.

He was an excellent run blocker later in his career at LSU.
Extraordinary? Or Gold Standard? Not even close.
Reed wasn’t really all that either to be truthful. He caught a lot of bubble screens and turned them into big plays thanks to Fisher. He’s seemed to be able to sit in spots.
Beating corners though? He wa smornlike Sproles versus a true #1 like Davis or Carson were.

At LSU with 2 other first round picks and LaFell? Not really. For the first 2-3 seasons the dude was massively inconsistent. He took plays off and just wasn’t a fighter like he was that last year. We are talking career at LSU.

He had his eyes fixed prior to his last year when all of a sudden his numbers jumped. As with all of Les’ receivers, he was an excellent run blocker.

His talent was wasted by himself outside of one year with the Chiefs. He should be one of the greats at catching TDs because of his tools. He was largely “lazy” in his performance.

at LSU? Nope. In the NFL? nope. Look at the catches to targets and get back to me. We know Colston was the money on that team and it wasn’t Henderson. In 2010, he did have some nice catches, but that isn’t the definition of career.

Clayton is 2nd all time at LSU in catches, and only played 3 seasons

He's 4th in yards career and 3rd in TDS
