Sounds like he's doing better now which is great, hope it continues and he gets another shot. Good for him talking about it.

Rarely have I seen a punter swing a game, but that punt against Bama was awesome.

People close to him tried to help him before he became “famous” at LSU. That fame went to his head and carried over to the NFL. Then he quickly learned the NFL doesn’t care about punters with certain off the field issues. I hope he gets his life together now that his playing career is over but I think it’s more of a damaged pride than it is mental illness.

There are a lot of mentally ill players that have long careers in the NFL. They tend to bounce around a lot but they usually keep getting chances as long as they are good enough. This very well may not apply to punters, though.
