LSU Director of Football Ops said today at the N.O. QB Club that it's Cotton or Outback.

I like the Cotton because of it's TV time slot and proximity to Louisiana in addition to all the LSU Alums who live in Texas...I don't like having to play Baylor. That team would cause us fits.

The Outback is a decent 2nd choice though only if we could play Michigan, Iowa, or Nebraska...Not Wisconsin.

LSU could be “eligible” for a BCS invite, but no way in hell they pass on 11-1 Bama for 9-3 LSU.

They don't have a choice. Alabama in the top 4 means they get an automatic BCS berth.

Apparently USCe's AD is lobbying hard for the Cotton Bowl. I hope that Alleva is doing the same for us, or at least making it clear to the Outback Bowl folks that we don't want to play Wisconsin if we do end up in Tampa.

Alleva lobbying for us. That usually works out well.

True. I'm expecting us to get screwed for the 2nd year in a row.

I have a buddy who is a USCe alum and he said that the word in Columbia is that the SEC home office wants to send the Cocks to Dallas.

And the Outback is so unpredictable watch them take A&M or Georgia.

The Outback taking UGA is a legitimate possibility. That would force us to either the CFA Bowl or the Gator Bowl.

Gator Bowl is cool. Chicken bowl is NOT gonna take us AGAIN.

I can't get excited about playing in either the Outback or Gator Bowls. It pisses me off that Carolina is pushing so hard for the Cotton Bowl and Alleva is probably doing nothing to make sure the SEC home office doesn't give us the shaft for the 2nd straight year.

I doubt they would want to, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I keep hearing how hard that the AD from USCe is lobbying for the Cotton Bowl. It pisses me off to know that Alleva probably isn't doing the same for us. We'll get sent to Tampa, only sell half of our tickets, and he'll send out a letter trying to make the fans feel guilty for not supporting the team.

I really don't have that much of a problem at all with Tampa, its just the idea that Alleva will be out negotiated once again.

I actually wouldn't mind Tamps, see the weather in D right now and could be cold as fuk at that time! Yes I realize the JW has a roof but still could be miserable outside when Tampa could be nice temps for activities outside.
Only problem is the flights will probably be costly by Sun, night and sell out quick. So would be a 10 hour drive would think?

Austin American Statesman today said that the Cotton will likely get Mizzou or South Carolina. They go on to say that Spurrier and lots of SC fans are letting the Cotton know they want to go there and the Cotton "would love to have them" A&M headed to Atlanta.

That's what I've been hearing as well. In the meantime, what is Alleva doing? I hope that he has the Outback Bowl people on speed dial and is calling them every day. I'm getting a little worried now that I'm hearing that the A&M AD has been lobbying for the Outback as well.
