Danny etling under any other coaching staff/scheme could have been better than what he was. with fournette and guice and chark and gage we had the weapons to be a premier SEC offense. the excuse train has to stop someday

He was nothing more than a system quarterback. He played well, was consistent, and didn’t turn the ball over, but he was not a quarterback that would take over a game and win it for a team. His arm strength was not there to make big time throws. We saw that in the Bama game.

But the excuses won’t stop. “O had no talent when he took over” is the mantra despite numerous top 5 classes and despite many that will start on NFL rosters.

So basically he was as good as every QB Bama has had in the last 10 years yet they somehow managed to win several national championships.

Alabama also has the greatest college coach of all time, and always throws out a top notch defense, with playmakers everywhere. That’s LSU without the elite coach part.

So we are unable to get top quality coach? Clemson managed to find one. Georgia seems to be doing alright. But LSU has to look at the bottom of the barrel?

Was good enough to be drafted by the Patriots, not much else left to say.

What are you trying to argue here? I said Alabama has one of the greatest coaches ever. Whatever QB they play will find a way to make it work. All I said was Danny Etling wouldn’t single handedly win games. I don’t think that’s a stretch at all.
