NO!
"The ONLY thing LSU can stand on is" the UT game two months prior was played by a far lesser LSU team than the one on the field in December. We would have just beaten the team that recently smacked Tennessee.

One argument is theoretical opinion. The other is reality. The Tennessee game is not being played again and Tennessee won the game...at LSU...convincingly

I absolutely want to see LSU in the CFP if they win the SEC Championship. But if you are going to put an Alabama team in the playoff in 2017 who didn't even reach the SEC championship game and an Ohio St. team who didn't reach the Big 10 championship game in 2016, then it is hard to say Tennessee should be left out in favor of a team they beat on the field.

For all of you,

Tennessee beat us bad earlier in the year, then our team changed and we beat Florida, Ole Miss, Bama, Arkansas, etc. and we WON THE SEC WEST are in the SEC Championship Game! Go figure after Tenn. whooped our arse. Now, if we beat Georgia, that is some serious shite! We beat the #1 team, and are SEC CHAMPS!

With all that above, we should be in the Playoffs!

Who cares what happened vs. Tenn. earlier? Just like in pro football, or NCAA BB, when in the playoffs, whoever wins goes on and the losers go home. And it does not matter who whooped up on Cincinnati earlier last year, because they got in the playoffs and took care of business. They did not whine and cry that we beat Cincy earlier in the year, why are they in the playoffs and now in the Super Bowl? And the teams who get hot late and get in to any playoffs can do some damage.

All that said, A win against Ole Miss, Bama and Georgia, plus the others we rolled through, should get us in... THE SEC CHAMPS!. Win over Bama & Georgia late in the season trumps a bad loss to Tenn. earlier in the year!!!!

Oh, and Tenn. did not even win their side of the SEC!!!

It's not just like in pro football. The discussion is who deserves to be in the playoffs in the first place. There was no dispute as to whether or not Cincinnati should be in.

Perhaps. And I hope you are right. But LSU's best win is virtually the exact same as Tennessee's best win. Both were over Alabama...at home...on the final play of the game. A win over Georgia would be something Tennessee could not equal...but if you are debating between two teams as to which should be in and which should be out, wouldn't a head to head matchup be the first place to start? That's were literally every two team tie-breaker starts their analysis. In that case Tennessee has the edge. You can not like it. You can baselessly opine LSU would "win today". But the reality is Tennessee has the "tie-breaker" in that aspect of the analysis.

The CFP is still relatively new. And there is a first time for everything. But the committee has never put a 2 loss team in the playoffs over a one loss team. That's true even when the 2 loss team was the conference champion and the 1 loss team that ultimately made the playoff "didn't even win their side of the conference".

In 2016 the committee put 1 loss Ohio St in over 2 loss Penn St. The reason is because they simply thought OSU was the better team (despite the fact OSU lost to PSU). That's fine if that is the committee's criteria. But taking the P&G glasses off it is hard to say LSU has been the "better" team this year. Tennessee right now has the stronger strength of schedule. The better argument may be that LSU has the stronger resume than Georgia if LSU wins that game because LSU would have the stronger overall SOS AND a head to head win.
