agree with what you are saying and honestly his record looking it up was 28-12 in SEC games starting from 2011. I think his philosophy of power mouth football and becoming so predictable was more infuriating then anything else. Liked les the man but like you said it was time to move on.

Yeah his refusal to use the middle of the field made it too easy to defend us. He instilled a fear into qbs about throwing ints. I was for letting him go last year if we were getting an upgrade like jimbo. Once an upgrade was off the table i was willing to give him this season to reverse the trends of 2014&15. After auburn it was clear that a change was needed regardless of a waiting upgrade or not.
Hopefully in 15- 20 years some of our fans will realize just how special his tenure was. No he wasnt an elite coach but his tenure here was.

Nah. Plenty of blame to go to Les on the football end of things, but honestly, people leaving early is more of a function of today's society and technology and how ridiculously longs games are. People don't have the attention spans they used to, watching a game on TV in the comfort of your own home is in many ways better when it isn't a premier game, and the games are so damn long.

All of this is true, but you have to think watching 3 and outs repeatedly under Miles the last 2 years hasn't done some damage.

Our offense was pretty productive in every game but 2 last year. We had 17 or more 1st downs in 10 games.
We had less than 400 yards of offense in 4 games.
Bama had less than 400 yards of offense in 6 games.
We also had a better 3rd down conversion % than bama.

Last year we were an efficient pass attack away from being an elite offense.

We were 3rd in the sec in offensive points per game and 4th in the sec in offensive yards per game.

It's hilarious that you think I'm miserable and that I "melt" because I'm not a simple mouth-breather like you who just wants to watch people have a good time and play football.

I mean I literally watch the games to have fun. You are arguably the most miserable saints talk poster on game days, even when the team was winning. If there were ZERO games you had fun at the last 3 seasons, that is a testament to you, not Les Miles. It is honestly something you should seek help about if you really couldn't enjoy any of the games I listed.

Man, I hope to one day be as smart as you. Continue to make excuses for being such a shitty fan that left a senior day rivalry game against Ole Miss at halftime and missed a fun game.

quote:

Do you even remotely get it?

Solid reading comprehension skills. I completely agree that Les Miles should have been fired. I wanted him gone last year. That doesn't mean I hated the last 11 years of LSU football. That is idiotic.

Do you know why I had a lot of fond memories over the last 11+ years? I'm not a miserable or super emotional bitch.

Now, "mouth-breather", do you understand the simple concept I posted? I see you ignore the entire list I posted, per usual. You left the Ole Miss game early because you are a shitty fan that can't watch a game without melting down. Same reason you can't enjoy all the wins I listed, including that one over a top 5 team where Tiger Stadium was absolutely rocking.

quote:

To also add to these "exciting" years of football, jsut look at our rankings to start and end the year.

I get that you can't actually dispute what I posted without actually looking at your issues, but please try to not change my argument to prop up your stance. Let me help you out:

quote:

And there were plenty of fun moments in the past 3 seasons.

I didn't say that the seasons were successful. I didn't say that Les Miles did a good job. I disputed the claim that there was "nothing" fun.

There were plenty of great moments and memories during that 3 year stretch that will last a lifetime.

quote:

We were as high as 6, 8, & 4 at one point in those years. Funny how we always regress as the season goes on.

Yea, you clearly don't even remotely get it or even understand what I'm saying.

The last 11 years that was the best tenure in lsu history.
If you didn't enjoy anything during the last 11 years then lsu football has never given you joy. Its like people have forgotten that even lord saban lost to inferior teams while at lsu.

Here are my memories from the "great games" of the past two seasons.

Auburn and the LF7 show - Granted
#8 UF win at home with fake field goal - Barely beat a bad florida team with a backup QB
Beating the Aggies again - Awful hairpulling game to watch
Texas Tech beatdown - Freakin Texas Bowl

2014:
Comeback win vs Wisky - Worst 1st half performance since 2011 Georgia
Road win @UF and LF7's coming out party - Thank God the tight end dropped the touchdown pass
Beating #3 Ole Miss at home - great night in Tiger Stadium - We threw like 5 passes
Beating the Aggies - Got bailed out by an offsides no call at the end of the game or Chavis's two minute defense would have lost the game again.

So you didn't have fun at any of those games? You didn't enjoy beating a top 5 team in Tiger Stadium on a 90 yard drive to win the game?

All I'm asking is if you had fun, not if they were well coached games.

I swear some of you live in an alternate universe where Miles doesnt have the best win % in lsu history WHILE COACHING DURING THE MOST DOMINANT ERA OF SEC FOOTBALL EVER.

During his tenure at lsu 3 other sec programs have multiple national title game appearances( programs we play every year) and he still has the best win % in lsu history.

Do you know how many sec programs ,with an appearance in the national title game ,saban played against at lsu?

Zero. Not one.

It is Les Miles' fault, in a way.

Under Les, we took care of OOC and most shitty in-conference teams at home with ease. Fans don't have to worry about LSU losing these games, so they leave.

That's one take.

The last 5 years under miles have a better win loss record than Saban's tenure at lsu.

I do as well, obviously being a fan and all. Les Miles football is the complete opposite of fun

I mean you can keep posting this like it's true, but it's not even remotely true. I call it like I see it and I'm not a blind homer like the majority of the board.

What makes a fan shitty? Having an opinion that differs from yours? Also, for like the 5th time, I've never left a game early. I've stayed for all the ones I've attended because...why not? The alternative is to sit in traffic early. But you keep using the word "fun" like that game was some sort of enjoyable experience. Not many people would call that display of football fun, victory or not.

Do you know why I had a lot of fond memories over the last 11+ years? I'm not a miserable or super emotional bitch.

No, you're just simple. I get it now. Doesn't take much to make you happy.

Another poster already posted for me a break down of just how misleading your list was. The opener against Whisky? The one where we got our shite pushed in by Melvin Gordon and the only reason we one is because Whisky decided to stop running down our throats the 2nd half. FUN FUN!

quote:

Yea, you clearly don't even remotely get it or even understand what I'm saying.

Actually, I do. You're just a simple person with very low expectations. Just entertain me, and I'll be happy. Winning is secondary. Simple.

Why lump them all together? Miles pre 2012 was a good time. Miles post 2012 was embarrassing.

It's faulty to say the last 11 years were fun when they weren't

You were embarrassed by top 16 finishes?

So every year but 2 of Saban's tenure embarrassed you?
From 1975- 2005 we had 8 top 15 finishes and now all the sudden we are too good for top 15 finishes?

If you didnt have any fun during seasons we finished top 15 then you clearly havent been a lsu fan for long.
Is top 15 the mountain top? Of course not. Thats doesnt mean you cant find enjoyment in top 15 seasons.

Only a dumbass would be happy with this tenure of LSU football.

Alabama is having their best tenure of football. LSU's best tenure includes losses in the Outback Bowl and Capitol One Bowl. Yawn

With the amount of talent we had and put in the NFL? For a program as prestigious as LSU? Yes, a top 16 finish isn't enough for what Miles had at his disposal.

Just look at the last two games. I don't even know if O is a good coach but any competent coach could take the talent and run up and down the field on teams. Miles wouldn't have scored half the points against Mizzou or USM.

Got to love the mediocrity mindset
