This is revisionist history, based upon the results of the 2023 season.
Matt House was a 2022 Broyles Award finalist and everyone was singing the praises of the improvements to the defense from 2021 to 2022.
LSU went from 74th in the FBS in EPA allowed per play in 2021 to 36th in 2022.
Fans were legit worried we would lose House to another job heading into the 2023 season and there would have been meltdowns had Kelly fired House after 2022 season.

FSU year 2 and USC Year 3... we were equal or better to than both... definitely better than USC....
