It wouldn't have bothered me to see him gone.

Keeping him on the team didn't do him any favors. At some point in his life he won't have the protection he does now and one of his mistakes will end up landing him in jail for a long time. Miles has essentially told the kid your actions have no major consequences, and that is unfortunate. Kicking him off the team would have at least taught him that his actions have consequences. Somebody else in college football would have given him a second chance and hopefully he would learned from previous mistakes and punishments.
Oh by the way, this isn't his second chance, its his third chance.

i disagree with your first statement. i believe if you kick him off the team and take away the only thing he has going for him would do more harm then good. you are right though he does need to grow up and be more mature because it is all on the line now

I think that Miles plays the father figure as a coach. He views each player the same way he does his own boys.
Coach Miles will never throw his players under the bus. He is also willing to use this as a learning opportunity for Hill.
Hill sat out a year already for doing something that has been blown out of proportion.
While I'm saddened that he made a bad choice outside a bar, the video only shows the worst part. The other "aggressor" in the video had his shirt torn to shreds which leads me to believe that this was more than just Hill sneaking behind some innocent kid.
Hill is being punished for his transgressions. We should all know from 2011 that Miles will never show his hand.

I don't want JFF off the team, so those f*ggies won't have any excuses when we whoop on that arse this year
Who cares if they have excuses and complain? If he doesn't play, then it increases LSU's chances of winning. That's the bottom line.

1. Sometimes being a father figure means tough love and teaching someone that actions have consequences.
2. Never throws his players under the bus? How many times in post game press conferences regarding the offensive production (including the 2011 BCS Title Game) did Les claim there was nothing wrong with the game plan, but there was a "lack of execution." Not to mention the 2009 Ole Miss Cluster when he tossed Jefferson along with all of his sideline assistants under the bus.
3. The fact that you think what Hill did previously was blown out of proportion tells me enough about your maturity level.
4. Much like Miles it appears that you too are going to help make excuses for the kid.

Don't bow down to such idiocy!!! Ask him for a link like I did
Idiots just saying things that have no basis in fact need to be called out for their idiocy in the hopes that they will be shamed into no longer spreading their illusions as fact
Opinions are one thing. Everyone has a right to their own, and I don't try to change anyone's. But spreading patently false information as fact is just offensive to me

what excuses is he making...Hill sat out of football for a year for his first crime and on probation....Second Crime while on probation is a swing not really a fight and you want him completely off the team...he has extended his probation and community service not to mention his curfew what more do you want from someone who threw a punch....drug dealers get lesser punishment than this

1. Sometimes being a father figure means tough love and teaching someone that actions have consequences.
So you believe that being kicked off the team is the ONLY possible consequence? Would your dad kick you out of the house for punching someone? Every disciplinarian has their own methods. There is no set standard or rule for this situation.

You equate commenting on execution to throwing players under the bus? Sometimes it really is that simple, but as fans we never want accept that as an answer. Teams just get beat.
3. The fact that you think what Hill did previously was blown out of proportion tells me enough about your maturity level.
When a senior and freshman classmates have relationships it is not necessarily a big deal. I like how we love to call them HS or college KIDS until they do something wrong. Then suddenly 18 is a grown man.
4. Much like Miles it appears that you too are going to help make excuses for the kid.
I am not making excuses for his choices. I just choose to not throw the book at him. We are human and make mistakes. I believe that Hill has been and will continue to be punish. Learn something called empathy.

Bottom line you do not hear about other coaching decisions because no one cares if a guy punches another guy in a bar at the University of Eastern Kentucky and the coach simply does not let him start in the season opener at left tackle. LSU is an elite program and under such scrutiny that no matter what Les does it will be criticized. Run your program the way you want and let the spectators be exactly that, spectators.

Are you fricking serious? First of all, very unprofessional for another instate university's SID to do that on air.
Yes, very serious. Tim did bait him but as an SID he should know better. But he basically said Sonny Dykes and Skip would never allow that kind of behavior. Tim maid the moral compass comment and Paul agreed.
