He doesn't look athletic. I noticed how stiff Smith and Savion Jones look and wonder if it is the training regimen they are going through. Idk. But the entire D plays like they've taken the rest of the season off, which looks very bad on House.

Maason Smithstill projected to be a first rounder
If this happens, I'll voluntarily ban myself for a year!

I think this all goes back to Coaching. He clearly is talented and has all the tools there is zero reason he should be regressing. I'm sure coming back from the injury plays a small part but there should be zero reason he has no impact. All goes back to coaching.
You're not completely wrong. See Danielle Hunter. Built like a brick shithouse and athletic as hell. 3.5 career sacks here. Goes to the NFL and is one of the best edge rushers in the league

I think he's going to be a guy that somehow becomes really solid in the pros that was a nothingburger at LSU.

One of the most underutilized players in LSU history. Hes going to have over 100 career sacks when hes done.

People will eat shite on smith next year just like y’all did this year with Jayden Daniels lol

If he comes back next and stays healthy I think he will have a great year . Not playing football for 2 years due to injuries is a lot physically and mentally to come back from

He was fricking great as a true freshman.
Against subpar competition, sure.

If he comes back I agree.
He had an ACL tear then a high ankle sprain. For a dude that big, it takes a while to come back from 2 lower leg issues.
With new coaching and in better game shape, he'd be really good next year if he does come back. Don't think he's coming back though.

Hope not....we need much better DL play than he has given LSU while here. Biggest overhype/bust of this decade

Tired of people using Smith's ACL tear as an excuse for his lack of production. Smith tore his ACL during a celebration on 9/4/22. That was 14 months ago. For comparison, Breece Hall tore his ACL on an actual hit on 10/23/22 and hes already been back and playing lights out for the Jets. Smith is a bust in relation to the hype behind him. Dude needs to get a fresh start somewhere else.
