Big play yards given up per Defensive Back

I went back through the game and charted the big play yards each DB gave up (10+ yard gains)
Receptions listed below are receptions of 10+ yards only
Darren Evans: 5 rec.; 113 yards; 1 TD /////Played 1.5 quarters
Cordale Flott: 5 rec.; 104 yards; 1 TD /////Played 4 quarters
Jay Ward: 6 rec; 210 yards; 2 TD /////Played 2.5 quarters
Elias Ricks: 2 rec.; 76 yards; 1 TD; 1 INT /////Played 4 quarters
Damone Clark: 1 rec; 21 yards
Maurice Hampton: 1 rec; 13 yards
My take: May God bless Jay Ward and Darren Evans because State baptized these boys Saturday. Darren Evans was pulled mid 2nd quarter and Jay Ward was put in. Those two combined for over half of MSST's passing yards Saturday.
Elias Ricks was fantastic minus the misread on the drag route. However, I loved that he had the balls to even try for a big play like that, and he'll make that play in the future. The other big play he gave up was just an awesome designed play from Leach. Leach got a guy in motion to run full speed at the time the ball was snapped and caught Ricks flat footed, which is just an inexperience thing.
Cordale Flott isnt who we thought he was, but I see potential in him. His downfall is that he isnt very fast and gets beat on drags and crossers. But unlike Evans and Ward, he actually played the entire game and only gave up 104 yards.

You could see some of the guys on defense getting frustrated at others being out of place or not handling their responsibilities.

Playing man against Leach was the dumbest game plan I have ever seen. Especially when you don’t have 4.3 speed stingley out there who can actually out run any of it. Just play a zone where the OLBs pick up the 2 crossers on their side and drop the mike to take away any potential Y cross play or the outside WR just settling in the middle. Then your corners pick up the wheel route from the HB since leach loves to do that.

I am almost more frustrated that they played a clearly injured Ward more than anything. I know you don't have options, but he couldn't even run.

Really disappointing with Flott. Has Raydarious Jones played at all?
Wonder if Mario Goodrich would be any better. We botched his recruitment but he hasn’t contributed much for Clemson.

Starting to wonder if it wouldn’t be the worst option to bump Harris down to play nickel, although he straight whiffed on that touchdown on the sidelines. I know Ricks got burned but you have to make that tackle everytime

I’m not sure if it’s better to have ricks or flott in nickel bc we never saw ricks there.

I was referring to Ricks only touchdown that day, at this point Ricks has to play outside simply because we don’t have anybody else who can

product of excellent coaching by Leach. Find the weak link and exploit. what's worse is our coaches did nothing to adjust
