That team also had Sean Taylor, Antrel Rolle and Kelly Jennings. All 3 who were drafted in the First. They had a couple other guys in that secondary drafted in later rounds.

Well, I said "perhaps," as in "arguably"...But I'd be willing to argue the point. Really Miami 2001 is the only group that I've found to be on the same level.

Feel free to educate us and dispute it, Lee. I'd love to hear some of your many examples of other similarly talented secondaries.

Someone save me some research - did any of the Miami guys leave school early?

many of them did but I don't feel like researching either

I know for a fact Sean Taylor did, though.

Pretty much everyone leaves Miami early. I remember hearing the former players talking about it on either the 30 for 30 or some other program.

DAYUM. That is legit, best of all-time and probably will always be. I think 2010 LSU has clearly staked its claim for the #2 spot though.

Have to do my own research . . .

They had six DBs from their '01 roster who were drafted in the 1st rd. Two left early.
Taylor - left early
Rolle - did not leave early
Buchanon - left early
Reed - did not leave early
Rumph - did not leave early
Jennings - did not leave early

From our '10 roster, there have been three 1st rd (PP7, Mo, and Reid), one 3rd (IM), and one 5th (Simon). It's reasonable to assume Loston will get drafted. Of those mentioned, only Loston will have made it to his Sr. season.

It's all speculation at this point as to whether TM or Simon could have become 1st rounders but it's not far-fetched. And if Loston has a great season it wouldn't be shocking if he was picked in the 1st.

Yea, Miami '01 DBs are > of our '10s but it's not by a lot.

And the DBs we got last year and we're recruiting this year have a chance to rival them. That's crazy. It'll be interesting to look back a couple years down the road and compare the two.

If you are going to try to be a smartass, then make sure you are also not a moron at the same time. See "2010".

Chad Jones?

I was never a fan, but he was like a god on the Rant and he went in the 3rd round.
