Amazon Firestick or Apple TV.

I've tried this. I have a mifi and it will work early in the day before campus gets crowded. Once campus gets crowded, I can't stream at all. Maybe it's just where I'm located.... Maybe it's all over campus, but in the heart of campus, it doesn't work.

Before the Fournette Auburn game, we bought one at the dollar store close to campus. It has the VHF and UHF antenna's as well as the coaxial connection. It was less than 10 dollars typical rabbit ears. We catch everything with it. It has to have both VHF and UHF. However for gameday, you are only trying to get one channel over the air, we stream the ESPN games through a firestick with Sling connected to a hotspot. It depends on what is happening, but usually no issues. Bama gameday, was a crapshoot.

Download the app Antenna Point on your phone and it will tell you exactly where to point the antenna based on location and what you are trying to catch.

Brilliant! You say only screws and washers? It looks like soldiering but that could just be flash from the camera.

The image is an example of a fractal antenna. This is a better technique than the standard straight post that you have to cut to match the frequency. I made each star and using a wood screw and washer, attached to a wood back to make the connection. You will need a pigtail converter to cable connector to connect to the TV. Less than $5 total and it works great.

I agree because the one she paid $60 for is trash.

Hmm, I wonder if I could make one from those political sign holders (wire H things).

The wire would work perfect. So freaking easy it's crazy. Google DIY Fractal Antenna. There are many variations. Here is a good one I just looked at. Mine is much less refined bc I only had 10 minutes to work with before the game started, yet it works awesome.

This is very similar to what I did by using screws instead of solder. I'm tempted to make a larger one for the house to catch the single from New Orleans in Mandeville.

I’ve never had an issue but use my iPad hotspot.

That, and there's no such thing as an "HD" antenna. The signal may be HD, but any antenna will pick up an HD signal.
