Seeing some freshmen 4 and even 5 stars are in the portal, why pay the unproven freshmen big money only to be transferred out next year, that money could be used on proven players in the porter instead.

Statistically about half the 5 stars don’t pan out. When that happens,
your money is tied up in a player that’s not producing and might stay
because nobody will pay them what they’re already getting.
