I will say the strongest LSU has ever looked at running back were when Addai, Carey, Vincent, Broussard, Edwards, etc. were all young. One would go down and the other would come in and be better. It's amazing that Addai was the lone soldier out of this bunch that didn't drop off after his freshman year. With that said, the best set in my lifetime was Faulk/Mealey/Collins/Banks.

quote:I don't think so. Scott and Williams have had their moments, but neither has been a Dalton Hilliard (certainly not yet) and as a pair they just aren't up to Hilliard/James level, imo.
remember Dalton Hilliard and Garry James being breakaway threats everytime they touched the ball. Now Keiland and Charles Scott seem equally dangerous.

quote:Yeah, when you think in terms of a never ending train of badasses running down defenses in their nightmares for years to come, that '97 group has to come to the front of the line. I mean Faulk was already an All-American; he goes down and Collins takes over with 172 yards, 232 yards, 179 yards; he breaks a leg and Faulk comes back with 4 more 100+ yard games plus a 212 yard day against Kentucky; then he gets hurt again and Mealey follows up his multiple 100 yard games with a 222 yard night in the Indy Bowl; meanwhile Herb broke off a 100 yard rushing night himself against Ole Miss and "Touchdown" Tommy Banks was blasting holes and punching it in for TDs.
One would go down and the other would come in and be better
That's just a nightmare for defenses.
