Do any of the local stations stream the broadcast over the Internet? Live a couple hundred miles away. AM is ok sometimes but not reliable. Wanted to try and listen to Hawthorne a few more times. Didn't want to hijack the local thread. Thanks in advance.

Well, I always pick up the LSU game over in Ms. on 870am radio.if it's not on TV, like the new SECNetwork or it's alternate channel. I love 870am radio and Hawthorne. I grew up listening to it in the 60's in La..

I can't get 1 or 2 per year based on TV package. Usually go to friend or family. But I wanted to listen to Hawthorne regardless this year.
Turn down TV, turn up radio kinda thing....

At night I have listened to LSU football on 870 in the Dakota's, Wyoming, south Florida, Louisville, Chicago, Atlanta and throughout Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina including the mountains. Once the sun sets it is a little dicey but you can still get it if that is your only option. Once it is dark it is not difficult at all. Obviously the early September games will give the most trouble.
Tiger Nation 84 you are correct this century on LSU games on TV. It was a different story for all teams before the proliferation of cable, the internet, and ESPN. There used to be a rule where no team could be on TV more than three times in a season, plus the bowl game. Many teams like Vandy, Baylor, Northwestern, Wake Forest, and many others went years without being on TV.
In the late 20th century (roughly 80s to the end) more games started to be televised), but nothing like now.

I also like to turn the TV volumn down and listen to WWL 870 am at night. This is Hawthorns last year too. All after dark at night.

WWL reception isn't what it was 30 years ago, but after 9 PM central, you can get it pretty clearly from Texas to New Jersey

New Jersey is difficult due to WCBs being 880.

I don't like to listen to the radio call live, but after the games, LSUsports started uploading audio highlights to Soundcloud and linking it at the bottom of the game recap articles. If you have trouble getting radio during the game or it isn't syncing well with the TV, you can go back and get your Hawthorne fix there.

I live in Fayetteville, NC. Any tips to pick up 870? I have not been able to get anything but static. TIA

I've always been able to stream it over the Internet. Sometimes I enjoy listening rather than watching.
