Best ever on TV for me was Bluegrass Miracle. Best in person was Flynn to Bird 2007. I was a student about 10 rows up from field right in the corner he caught the pass. Went from panic pleading for them to call a timeout to disbelief to pandemonium in about 5 seconds haha.

If you count TV than it's easily Warren Morris.

In person, schambra's walk off in the regionals a few years ago landed in the seat next to me. That was pretty awesome.

It's amazing that it took seven post to finally mention the most iconic ending to any game in LSU history.

Yep ... considering the circumstances and what was at stake, the Warren Morris HR is the only correct answer.

With one swing of a bat, Warren Morris ended a game and delivered a national championship to Baton Rouge.

Until someone wins a championship on the final act of a game this will remain atop the list.

It may be the greatest ending of any LSU moment.

But that wasn't the question...I wasn't there and I wasnt watching that on TV when it happened.

So in any case... 2007 Auburn was for me. Was in the student section. TS was rocking, I was down low in the bowl and felt like I was there. It was awesome.

You mean Jones to Brad Davis. That was my favorite ending witnessed live. The Warren Morris homerun was my favorite ending seen on TV

I was fortunate enough to be there for the Bluegrass Miracle...epic.

For hoops had to be Anthony Wilson's bounce, bounce and in buzzer beater at the PMAC to beat Memphis St. Was lucky enough to be in the building for that one too.

Didn't Cresse also have a grand salami walkoff to beat Bama in the old-Box? Maybe 1997-ish?

I'm biased because I was in the student section for the game but my favorite is the 1980 LSU-Auburn game. It was LSU's homecoming and the first season of LSU football post Cholly Mac.

Here are some excerpts from https://www.andthevalleyshook.com/2018/4/19/17254168/greatest-games-from-every-season-1980-bo-rein-jerry-stovall-alan-risher-marcus-quinn

It started with Auburn missing a field goal with under 7 minutes left and LSU trailing 17-14.

quote:

LSU took over with under seven minutes on the clock. Risher would barely convert a first down on 3rd and 5, but then would really start getting going. A pass interference call moved the ball down the field, followed up by a 34 yard pass reception by Hokie. After two running plays setting up 3rd and 3 and the 15, Risher would find his tight end, Malcolm Scott in the middle of the field, and he would run it in for a touchdown. LSU was back up, 21-17 with 3:05 to play.

So after Auburn is forced to punt and then LSU cannot get a first down, LSU elects to punt with less than a minute left in the game.

quote:

Clifford Toney would break through the line and block the punt, which Johnny Green would then recover at the 11 yard line. Auburn had 49 seconds, no timeouts, and four downs to score a touchdown to pull off a miraculous victory.

Now that missed field goal is huge, Auburn needs a TD to secure the game rather than being able run the clock down and kick a game winning FG. So now the fun starts.

quote:

On first down, Sullivan found Byron Franklin wide open in the end zone. The pass hit him right in the numbers for an easy touchdown. But he dropped it, and with it, the sure victory.

Started to get that sinking feeling and I was sure it wasn't the booze.

quote:

Sullivan’s next two passes fell incomplete,

Not a single person is sitting (at least those still capable, a few were passed out) in the student section

quote:

and on fourth down, Marcus Quinn earned his second interception of the night at the one yard line. Quinn would almost return it all the way for a touchdown the other way, but he was hauled down at the 26. Besides, flags flew all over the place. LSU fans waited with baited breath for the call… clipping. The penalty erased most of the return, but the interception held up.

That pick was a thing of beauty, even though a simple breakup would have done the trick. Really thought Quinn was gonna score ont hat. It was pandemonium in the student second!
