I can't sit here and honestly say that beer sales inside the stadium would be a good thing for me.

Not a good idea

Why is it a good idea for pro football and many college football stadiums/conf but not the sec?

So youre saying they dont count suites as part of total attendance since they're not in the stadium???

Don't know about the attendance but alcohol is in full force uo there, and there's no line.

Yes, really.

It's not an SEC rule.

It is so much fun getting anal searches for the possibility of alcohol entering the student section

Sell beer, the university needs the money. Alcohol gets in either way

The way the uppers were built has nothing to do with alcohol sales. It has to do with TAF controlling the tickets of those sections.

LSU allows the sale of alcohol in restricted areas like the suites and club level, but not in the general seating areas. Same at The Box and PMAC.

There is no SEC or NCAA policy in place banning alcohol sales at college sports.

It's left up to each individual campus to decide.

Yes there is. Try buying alcohol in the champions club during regional and SR. Can't do it.

The NCAA has for years banned sales and advertising of all alcohol in the venues of its championships. Host venues are required to cover up any ads for alcoholic drinks.

The NCAA does not control the regular season in any sport, nor does it run the postseason for the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. Individual schools and conferences oversee the regular season, including game operations, broadcasting and advertising. The postseason for Division I Football Bowl Subdivision is controlled by the Bowl Championship Series and individual bowl committees.

Alcohol is also not allowed in the general seats at Tiger Stadium, but if you sit right above those areas, in the box seats, you can drink alcohol. "It's easier to control," said LSU Associate Vice Chancellor Herb Vincent. "It's a game management issue." Vincent says because none of the other schools in the Southeastern Conference allow alcohol in general seating, LSU does not feel pressured to change their policy. "It's kind of an unsaid decision that's been made among the league schools that we're not going to sell alcohol," Vincent said.

Vincent says if SEC schools start to sell it though, LSU may reconsider. There is no SEC or NCAA policy in place banning alcohol sales at college sports. It's left up to each individual campus to decide.

Yep, it says that sec prohibits sales of alcohol in public areas. Locations such as stadium club are considered private areas. You don't think if the sec allowed it that at least one school would sell alcohol. Chick fil a bowl, sugar bowl, etc. can sell it because it's not an sec event
