Excuses are the nails that built the house of failure.

Bama in this decade = irrelevant.

We know that LSU's success under Saban was due to his locking down in state talent. He had 1 exceptional year with that talent in place. The other 4 were mared with UAB's and losses against inferior oponents (Nothing to due with lack of talent but coaching, another Saban trait). He only coached 1 year with fewer than 3 losses.

All that talent, same talent Bama fans credit all of Miles wins with, and Saban only had 1 great year.

Right. Why didn't they make Hallman, and Dinardo, or Archer then.

They did make Archer and DiNardo. There are probably less than a half dozen programs in the country where Archer or DiNardo could win 10 games; both did it at LSU.

Hallman is an exception, and a rarity. I believe he is the only LSU head coach in the last half century (at least) that did not have the best season of his career at LSU.

Don't try to explain anything to the gumps. The delusion just gets in the way of a rational thought from them.

Because they weren't smart enough to take advantage of it like Saban did....

Never said the guy wasn't smart; yet he did make me question it when he took the bammer job.

Its all about being relevant. And bama is not and has not been for quite some time. The gumps need LSU to lose to feel better about themselves. Everyone from outside of the state of Alabama just laughs at their dumb asses for being so delusional. Its so sad, its funny.

What NFL or major college teams did they go on to be head coaches of after LSU made them?

None. They (like Saban) weren't good enough to win big anywhere in football . . . except at LSU, where the school makes the coach. See how that works?

The only difference is that Saban was enough smarter than them to convince some dumbasses to pay him $4 million a year because he won bigger at LSU than he ever did anywhere else . . . just like DiNardo, Archer, Arnsparger, Stovall, McClendon, Dietzel, etc., etc.

That is all you really needed to say. If LSU made these other coaches like they waited 45 years on to make Saban, then these guys would have been head coaches again after this many years somewhere that we had heard of.

4, 5 or even 6 loss season would not look good for Saban, especially if he loses to Auburn.

LOL... do you really believe that Alabama is going to lose its next 4 games?

Alabama was picked by the national media to go either 7-5 or 8-4 this year.

If we lose to LSU and Auburn then we will finish exactly as it was predicted.

If we win either of those then we finish much better than expected.

Now on the other hand if we actually win both of those games then it will be a disaster for both LSU and AUBURN.

There is no pressure on Alabama to win this game other than the hype.. Sure we want the win. Sure we want a chance to win the West and go to Atlanta... But noone in the national media expected us to before this season started.

Sorry to cut into the conversation, but i opened the thread, and laughed my arse off in my office when i read this.

Well, technically, that's not true. DiNardo did get the Indiana head coach job, which -- as a BCS conference school -- is a "major" college job. And he was dismally unsuccessful.

Maybe you're not quite getting the point, so I'll express it another way:

Gerry DiNardo -- mediocre success before coming to LSU, big success at LSU, hired by Indiana afterwards and returned to mediocrity.

Nick Saban -- mediocre to better-than-average success before LSU, big success at LSU, hired by Miami Dolphins where he sucked, then hired for $4 million per year by bama where he stands one game above .500.

Recognize the pattern yet? If the success was "all about Nick", then why is it that all five of his seasons at LSU were better than seven of his nine seasons everywhere else in football combined?
