We all know in our own minds that wade was talking about improper benefits. Let’s get that out of the way.
But that doesn’t matter, according to the rant legal scholars, because he’s “innocent until proven guilty” or because of a lack of proof “beyond a reasonable doubt.” Or even better, “what about due process?” Stop, please. You don’t know what those words mean or when they apply.
This is not the Will Wade trial. He isn’t fighting legal charges. He probably never will. None of those legal phases apply.
The only legal phrase that matters at this point is “just cause.” That’s how we determine whether wade gets paid the rest of his contract. That’s why wade didn’t talk to the BOS, even though it forced the school to suspend him. He gone. The game for him now is whether he gets paid. The game for LSU is not getting major sanctions. In other words coach and school are now opposing sides in will wade’s only real legal battle

LSU fires Wade
Wade sits out two years
Bama fires Avery
Bama hires Wade
Wade turn Bama into a basketball dynasty

The OP is unfortunately correct. Our fans are in denial and sound exactly like Ole Miss fans did a couple years ago.

so because it sounds like he talked about improper benefits he should get fired with no pay? Even if no evidence points to that?

Honestly, this is way more than about Wade.
With the Administration not activating a battalion of attack attorneys to bury the NCAA in a mountain of paper, they are killing the basketball program.
What good Coach would come to LSU when they know that the Administration will desert them..

Not sure how you don’t get it, but let me help.
1) If he is guilty ok, cool. Suspending him now isn’t saving us punishment from the NCAA, and you would be naive to think so. Everyone would rather us make a run and enjoy the rest of the season before sanctions hit instead of losing in the first round and paying players for nothing
2) LSU has absolutely nothing to gain by suspending him and not waiting until the NCAA formally opens an investigation after the trial in April
3) ETA: If he is innocent, you burned a bridge and likely he will telll this administration to buzz off

I didn’t say he should get fired without pay. He should get paid until the school has enough evidence to prove just cause for termination.

You tried to sound smart but it didn’t work. We didn’t suspend him because of the allegations, we suspended him because he refused to talk to his bosses about it. For all intents and purposes he requested a suspension

Ive said it before and I will repeat:
If you’re Joe Alleva/F. King Alexander, and you have concrete, irrefutable proof that Will Wade did something in violation of his contract, then you terminate him for cause, effective immediately.
Anything short of that, including circumstantial evidence, you leave it alone and let it play out.
The NCAA isn’t going to thank LSU for doing this. And all it does is send the message to potential future coaches (as well as current coaches in your other sports) that at the first sign of trouble, the administration will refuse to take your back.
LSU has bungled this about as badly as can be imagined.

I mean they suspended him to address the situation.
You don’t do that now. You release a statement saying we will investigate the matter at the end of the season, not during the final weeks when these kids have been working their arse off all year

I started a thread saying this exact thing but worded it poorly on account of my rage.

Why doesn’t anyone understand why we suspended him? He is refusing to talk to his supervisor!! I hope you people are all 22 and younger, no real other excuse
