I booed him and I want him to have a chance to prove himself this year. If he does and Jefferson doesnt change he should get the start. Im sorry but in '08 booing Lee was like booing the other team. He scored all their touchdowns.
Looking back I should have just called him a stupid mothafricker...But I was Wasted/Jacked and Tan/ Pissed. A deadly combination.

I honestly never did. I surprisingly had a very gracious attitude towards him, which is nothing short of a miracle because I used to have an extremely short temper. That was pretty much the year that taught me patience.

I never booed him. I don't boo the players anyway, but even if I did, I wouldn't have booed him. Most of what happened to him on the field was not his fault. It was ridiculous how bad our defense was, and a freshman having to press hard to make plays every week because his defense can't keep him in the game just isn't going to have a good time in the SEC. Still, even with all that, he did a good job on multiple occasions of driving us downfield for a crucial score. The winning drive at Auburn, the late tying drive against Alabama, the back-to-back drives against Florida to pull us within 20-14 when the defense had allowed them to jump to a 20-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of the game, all were examples of his ability. He, like every other QB in the Miles/Crowton era, just wasn't brought along properly and developed. It's a shame they wasted his talent like that.

Good stuff here. Maybe I have been naive in my support for him, even after the 2008 season. Just something about him, and the moments bolded above, that made me believe this kid can play QB at LSU. The pick 6's were just as much about the rest of the team quitting on him (i.e. the D Byrd types, etc) as they were him making mistakes. Some of those players from 2008, coming off a title, felt entitled, and IMO quit on Lee. Hell, they quit on the season. And the defense sucked.

Never boo a Tiger. Took Matt II 5 years to get ready this kid got thrown to the SEC wolves as a freshman. Several stupid decisions by the coaches didn't help. Don't care who the QB is just win.

I bood him from my house. Would never do it at a game. I still don't think he is the Messiah but he's gotta do better than JJ. I just want to see a screen play ran successfully. Is that asking too much?

I never boo a player at the college level. Never know when a relative of the player could be sitting close to you. Been there, done that, and would not do it to someone else. Besides, they are kids.

I felt for the guy. I am not a booer. I am a cusser though. I also hope that if he gets in the game and throws a pick, it won't start them all over again. Give the kid a break.

That said, I still have hopes he gets the chance to change his LSU career path at some point. He deserves it for sticking it out.

I didn't boo him at the tulane game, but I wanted to. I booed him at the troy 08 game. You can say JJ only completed 1 pass but he got the first td that got everything rolling, if I remember correctly.
:ducks:
At the Vandy game last year when he had to go out on the field, I cheered like there was only 1 second left on the clock. When he ran off waving to get the crowd pumped up, you could tell how much of a team player he is and he wants to win too. Everyone deserves a fresh start.
FTR at this point I just want to see progress from anybody under center.
Also FTR I will never do it again!

Are you like the good morals police or something?

Boo's are carried by the crowd and are heard on the field. If I would have called him a stupid motherfricker only myself and friends around would have heard. Therefore yes you are correct, good idea.

I have never boo'd an LSU team, nor will I ever. They're amateur athletes... Now the Saints circa 2005 I boo'd like hell

I would never boo this guy. I love is talent in 2008. With that quick release he could make us a real BCS team competing for the national championship. Take his scoring average in 2008 with our defense now and we just might go undefeated
