In watching the LSU-MSU game, an LSU player and an MSU player received technical fouls.
1. No technical foul shots were taken by either team Why not? One could make its free throw and the other could miss.
2. MSU's technical foul resulted in the 7th team foul. Why didn't LSU shoot a one and one?

I guess they figured both teams screwed up and don't want either team to get an advantage as a result of the play.

Simultaneous technicals by each team are offset and it goes back to who had possession.
You never shoot for the bonus on a tech.

Thanks Golfer. Seems like rules defies logic. Like in football....on the same play, one team has one 15 yard penalty and the other team has three 15 yard penalties. But the penalties offset.
