Not trying to flame or start mess, but how long does Johnson get if we continue to struggle? We looked great his first year with talent...not so much now. I like him and hope we keep him but if the first two games are an indication, I bet he is on the hotseat headed into next season.

If you give a regular guy in a regular situation 4 years, give Trent 5, his first year was abnormal as far as what coaches normally take over and his second year (last year) he basically had to start from scratch.

TJ will get his 5 years. We put up with JB for way to long. They wont do anything with TJ before his 5 years are up.

As a former Nicholls player, I'm proud of my boys. Toly is a great player, and he's got his head on right this year. Piper is a great coach too, so congrats to my boys.

As for Trent, well, I have my problems with him, but whatever. LSU will struggle this year.

Remember, though, it took a miracle effort by Tasmin, including a game winner, to beat Nicholls last year, and the year before Nicholls was in it the whole time. Congrats Colonels.

Nicholls Colonels have upset LSU in Baseball ('09) and in Basketball ('10) in the past two years.

Guys, this is a VERY young team. It's only their second game together. This season will be filled with up and downs. Games like this one are to be expected.

With that being said, this is definitely disappointing. However, I love LSU basketball and I will support this team no matter what. But I also have reasonable expectations.

I understand that a lot of you don't, but you need to somewhat see the youth and growing pains this team will have to go through to become good down the line - whether it be this year, the next, or the next.

How many years will TJ get to rebuild?

GTFO with this shite....its the fricking second game of the season...we played THREE true freshman basically the WHOLE second half...it's only Trent's third year and he won the SEC in his first....he's rebuilding the whole program...not just our team...we aren't going to be great this year, but we won't be bad either and nothing like last year....next year will be real indicator of how our program is growing under Trent

I can't believe some of you are actually dismissing this total embarrassment of a loss as acceptable. We got beat by a school with what, 1500 students??? You're all callling for Les's head at 9-1 and this is acceptable and Trent is a great coach??? Damn!

bad loss but yeah its a young team, struggling in aspects veteran teams or simply more talented teams can overcome. don't know why bass and populist were in the game late, stringer passed up some good looks so his shoulder must have been hurting a little. i think they'll struggle defensively and in taking care of the ball most of this season but they won't be as horrible offensively every night, turner and dotson both had an off night, this team really lacks a talented perimeter defender, hoping dotson can step up and turner can stick with another player.

Football programs can turn around in Year 2, let alone Year 3. We are talking about a basketball program.

How did KY do last year with all those freshmen?

Basketball programs do not take years to turn around. Just ONE outstanding top player can get you in the hunt in College.

How many players has Trent signed since he got to LSU?
