I actually liked how Trent used his bench tonight. White didn't even get in, and I loved having Stringer off the bench.

Was a reason given for White not playing? Not that he brings THAT much, but in a game where we got outrebounded by 17, White would have helped.

Saying the team played tough or hard, or taking positives from a loss, in no way equals moral victory.

We lost because of poor rebounding, poor free throw shooting and getting beasted on by Moultrie, who is probably the best player in the SEC. The first two we normally do well, the third we couldn't do much about.

I dont think coaching was the issue.

Moultrie is a monster. I've watched State all year. He didn't show it much tonight, but he's got range on his jump shot, too.

I don't think there's any way he stays past this season, especially if State goes deep into the tournament.

ETA: I agree with what you say about moral victories. Truth told, there's a lot of teams that we would have beaten with the way we played tonight, or against Florida on Saturday. Unfortunately, there aren't that many teams in the country that are better than those two teams.

Yea, but what do you know Bubba, you're just another basketball sunshine pumper... Any realist can see this team is going no where and we need to fire TJ right now and just start over

I've said all along, he needs to go about 500 in the SEC to save his job. I still believe that. All this calling for his head after every game is ridiculous. Lets just let it play out.

so 7-9 would count as about .500 right? because that's kinda what I'm thinking honestly they'll end up at the end of this year.

Wins:
UGA
Tenn
@USCe
@Auburn
@Ole Miss or Arkansas

or maybe both and end up 8-8

Remember that at the start of the season this team was making the front page of all the magazines. Look at them now!

I still think we end up at 9-7.

5 wins:
UGA
Tenn
@USCe
@Auburn
@Ole Miss

And two out of: UK , Vandy, MSU (home), Arkansas (home), and Alabama (home.... they lost to South Carolina tonight.)

9-7, two SEC tourney wins and we're dancin'!

Trent (and the team) just need to focus on big picture and not get discouraged by losing to top 20 teams. I do think if we ever shut down again in a game (well, besides Kentucky) like we did at Alabama, the season could end poorly. This team can play with damn near anybody in the country. They proved it in non-conference, and we're showing it now against teams like Florida and State.

if we are 9-7 in the league, i would think we would have to win the sec tourney to dance but im not 100% on that

Nah, 9-7 puts us at 19-11 plus the two SECT wins makes it 21-11, that's probably good enough to at least be on the bubble, if not in.

I'm guessing you haven't notice that LSU has lost 5 out of their last 7 games..

@Arkansas
@Bama (Tourney team probably)
@Mississippi State (No. 18 and Tourney Team)
@Florida (Tourney Team, No. 17)
UVA (probably tourney team)

You act like LSU hasn't competed this year at all. We beat Marquette (No. 10), won @Rutgers (who have since knocked off Pitt, Florida and UConn). We lost by 5 on the road to a very good MSU team.

Our schedule is very light on the back end so winning 5 of 7 to end the year is easily attainable.
