I think we play for 40 minutes with Kentucky but it'll take EVERYONE'S best effort.
We have seldom played an intense and focused 40 minutes this year. This will be crucial to even compete Elleshoe.

Another think we've seldom done. State was our best night of the year. It starts with shot selection, and that has not been a strength of this team, plus Trent does not demand it. It will have to be good today.

Key is I think Kentucky will pound inside. Trent never doubles the post so our guys will have to really play above their heads here.

And Turner will have to score. I'm not counting on it given his dissappointing year to date, but to compete and hope to win, IMHO it's a must.

I'm hopefull Elle, and I'll be there cheering as loud as anyone. But I don't believe phoney optimism helps my team. If I did I'd predict victory.

FWIW I picked Marquetee by about the same score.

Hickey fared pretty darn well against Teague in a couple of Kentucky/Indiana all-start game matchups.

I just hope he doesn't make this too personal and focuses on the real goal which is team not I'm going to show them.

I think Hickey has the make up of a kid who steps up in these type games though. I hope that's the case today.

JIMP if that happened but that's the ONLY way we win at the end- I say Hickey or Ham's the closest thing we have to a closer right now

FWIW, i'm a kentucky fan and i've been saying i wish we had hickey all season long. Teague has not shown near as much as hickey has. Not saying he doesnt have his moments of brilliance and could play well today, but overall Hickey has been the better PG

Does Storm Warren (or maybe Jalen Courtney) remotely have the athleticism to play the 3 spot? Because otherwise we are very outmatched in size in the backcourt with Stringer at 2 and Turner at 3, IMO. And I like Eddie Ludwig...

...off the bench, not so much as a starter.

I can't believe this wont be on national TV but next week's game vs. Bama will. I think LSU has a chance today, UK has struggled a bit on the road and LSU has played some good team close lately.

Win or lose, I think the second half of the SEC schedule will get a lot easier and LSU ends up around 7-9 or 8-8. Would love to see a win today.

I think Courtney does but he crapped the bed in Gainesville pretty bad when he got his opportunity.

I'll wager he'll get one chance against Kentucky today, but the leash will be short...which it should be.

I just can't see Eddit being on the court against Kentucky for any amount of time being a good thing. Hope he proves me wrong.

KY 69 LSU 63

LSU plays with KY the whole game, but KY is just too talented and wins by a narrow margin.

If he gets more than 4 minutes, that's trouble IMO. And I love his hustle but still.

Eddie is lost in SEC play. He plays his arse off but the talent just isn't there. I think a perfect example is Wed vs State, he corralled an offensive board in the paint. Not a single defender was around him. Instead of putting up an 8 foot shot he freaked out dribbled to the key & gave it one of our guards. We won't win if Eddie is playing more than 10 minutes this game.

Nothing but love for Eddie but you're right zealot.

He understands what to do but physically he's so overmatched against the better teams that even that goes by the wayside.

I'm not sure why Trent puts him in that situation, starting him even at times.

He started him Wed to send a message to Stringer (and it seemed to work considering Stringer shot well for the most part and score 17).

Wasn't the reasoning for signing Eddie to get Derenbecker to LSU? If so, that def. shows up in his game b/c he just isn't even close to SEC talent.

He certainly can hustle though.

I'm good with that reasoning. I'd like to see the same with Turner. Time to quit tip-toeing around his fragile psyche and force him to earn back PT.
