I have never once claimed he is great. However, I find it funny many LSU fans are throwing him under the bus after 1 (now 2) bad starts while he has been hurt. He was a solid pitcher last year and apparently MAINERI himself said he was pushing for a weekend STARTING spot this pre-season.

That's a failure in logic.
My position is that he's not very good. But, his ERA last year was skewed by the fact that he never went through the order more than once and often had very short appearances (1 inning or less). His appearances were hand picked by Mainieri in situations where he thought he had a good matchup.
I chuckle that you think my position is disproven based on the fact that you point to a 1 inning outing by Cain in which he was hammered. It's faulty logic.
To disprove my theory, you'd have to show evidence that he can frequently be effective in longer outings where he faces the entire lineup multiple times.
