You need to work on your logic fella.
Just because pitching in spot duty, in situations where the coach thinks he has a favorable matchup, without facing a batter more than once is an advantage, doesn't mean that it ensures success.
What it means is that if he were given more of a role and had to consistently throw well for extended periods, he'd have more problems. He's never had good command and when he lets the fastball leak over the plate he gets hammered.
