I was not impressed by Doolittle during fall ball. His bat was not what I expected and his defense was lacking. I'm not surprised that he will have to transfer for a chance to see playing time. Doughty was only slightly better IMO, mostly due to his offense. Since Coombs complete recovery from his surgery is still untested, I think picking up another JC catcher would be a wise move.

I was curious about that, is JUCO still an option to grab a player this late in the game? I know there season cranks up in a few weeks.....

I doubt there would be a Juco player added before this season. My speculation earlier in the thread was that one would be added for next season considering our current roster, that feduccia is a draft risk, and that the only catcher signed for next year is a draft risk.
Most southern jucos start their season at the end of the month, we can start getting an idea of targets after that.

They picked up a commitment from Brock Mathis of Northwest Florida St today. JUCO Catcher.
