Imagine with this team if over the next month Hess continues to struggle as the starter but we have 3-4 other pitchers prove more than capable of being weekend starters.....this team would be unstoppable with 3 consistent starting pitchers to where Hess could be your dedicated 8th inning pitcher and at times 7-8 inning closer with Peterson coming in for the 9th......if they were consistent shut down guys to where we get to the 7th or 8th with a lead it’s over and then u have a lot of other bullpen arms to fill in here and there especially on those nights u have to go to the pen early when someone is off their game....this team would be unstoppable

He will be a weekend starter all year.

I think Hess will improve as the season goes on. Remember, he had a groin injury and those kind of injuries can set a pitcher back. He’ll get back into his groove the next few weeks. Now he may get bumped down to a Saturday starter and Marceaux could very well become the Friday night guy but the poor outing against ULM on Friday does not mean that that is the kind of performances Hess will have every start. He’ll improve week by week and he’ll be ready to go by the time conference play rolls around
