fine, edward with the tying run on 3rd with 1 out vs. nola with the tying run on 2nd with no outs

i take edward with the runner at 3rd. you know baseball, i'm not going to go through all the scenarios a run could be scored.

i think you believe nola >>>>>>>>> edward, and i'm not sure thats the case

its hard to say, its not the right or wrong call, its a decision some people prefer to go one way and some the other. Coaches struggle with that decision too. To act like it was definitely the right or wrong call is kinda dumb.

Again Josh, you know it all. I promise you it wasn't a hard decision for Mainieri.

1) This game is almost meaningless in the grand scheme and we took the series

A loss to a 250 or 300+ rpi team can be very damaging to regional hosting. Maybe not just this 1 but we cant afford many like this

It's all about situation. The pitcher couldn't throw a strike. He had walked two straight hitters, correct? So why give him an out? Why give ourselves an out when we had scored 6 runs the inning before and had gotten a good start to the 9th?

Mainieri goes by the book, and it's cool. I just don't think he makes the best decisions.

ETA: I understand his strategy in that situation. The situation says "you should bunt." But the situation goes deeper than just "1st and 2nd (tying run), and no outs." I'm not saying I don't understand his decision, but I do disagree with it 100%.

I didn't like the bunt call, even if we would have won the game.

it wasn't a strike and you don't swing at everything that a catcher can catch

Apparently since you can't read, I'll post this again...

Slight exaggeration to get a point across. Get your head out out of your arse long enough to notice the obvious. It's called protecting the plate... even on "questionable" pitches.

As long as we take care of business with our SEC schedule we will be fine in terms of hosting.

in that situation with that close of a pitch you do not leave the outcome in the hands of the umpire. Now if it was more inside or a bit lower then yes take the pitch but not where that pitch was.

Yeah, I think it's either going to be obvious that we're worthy of hosting or obviously not worthy. I also tend to think that if we're on the bubble, we'll likely get it.

walks can and will kill you in a ball game especially when you give up 8 of them I think it was today...

also its very difficult to win 12 in a row no matter who you are playing in baseball...
