Yea, but if you throw strikes, its also a lot easier for them to get hits. So, I would rather him throw one strike, three balls and get a ground out than 2 strikes and then a strike that goes for a home run.

Or you walk a guy and the next pitch you throw you get the guy in a double play. You can get two outs on 1 strike.
