Yeah. Best guess would be that one infield position isn't 100% settled, as far as the player goes, and the player who emerges will likely be at 2B. I wouldn't rule Reaves out of the conversation yet.

Milam said that he was told he would be playing the left side of the infield. Scrimmages have suggested that this is accurate. He's spent a lot of time at SS. Braswell has spent some time at 3B. You can pencil in those two players starting somewhere on the infield. So that leaves the only opening at 2B.

Still a lot of time for that to change though.

They obviously have enough LHH to develop a platoon, but they are lacking RHH to counter that once again this season

An unlikely problem to have. Good observation.

SS scrimmage usage:

Braswell, 12 games
Mikey Ryan, 12 games
Dickinson, 10 games
Hogg, 5 games
Milam, 4 games

I wouldn't say Milam spent alot of time at SS. The plan was to use him more there but he got hurt.

If you think anything is settled before spring work, you're sadly mistaken.

Ryan looked good at SS but the bat didn't quite emerge in the fall.

Hogg looked out of place at SS but was solid at 2B and showed some hitting talent.

Reaves was brought here for his bat but his defense outshined his offense and was solid at 3B and 2B.

John Pearson will need some reps at 3B defensively but the bat improved as the fall went on. I think he has a ton of potential on offense.

Well I'm basing it off of the words that Milam specifically said, which was that JJ told him that he would be on the left side of the infield this year.

And I don't mean the positions are necessarily settled, but I expect Milam, Braswell and Jones to be 3 of the 4 players starting. I said as much in the original post that you are taking out of context.

He wanted to get Milam more reps on the left side in the fall. I'm sure he will pick that plan back up now that Milam is healthy. I don't take that as Milam will be starting at SS or 3B. He might, but he didn't (especially with only getting him limited reps in the fall) pencil him in at SS or 3B. "Milam, I didn't get you enough reps on the left side in the fall, so you'll be playing there in the spring." In other words, before the season. I just don't see it sticking. Braswell 3B, Dickinson SS, Milam 2B is what I expect.

Dickinson's a projected 1st round pick. The infield is settled. The positions may not be,

Milam was on Moscona a month or two ago and he came out and flat out said that JJ told him he was going to play the left side of the infield this season. He didn't phrase it at all the way you are suggesting. That's what I'm basing it off of.

Personally, I would think Milam would play 2B, and Braswell at SS. I haven't seen enough of the newcomers and how they would force that situation to be shuffled. I'm just going off of what came out of their mouth to project it.

Dickinson will start. He may even be the leadoff hitter, and he won't DH. Take that flat out as you may.

I'm not arguing against that. Just saying that I haven't seen enough to be able to base that opinion on anything.
