Live here in Omaha, LSU alum. Barrett’s started by the LSU bar back in the late 80s when Skip started bringing us regularly. Back then, there were far fewer bars. Some LSU fans started attending and it became the spot throughout the 90s. Since that time they’ve adopted all lsu sports.

For example, as long as Nebraska/Creighton are not playing at the same time, they will put the LSU game sound on over all other sporting events.

The story behind why everyone in Omaha loves LSU is because they know the whole city of Omaha from all their time here and visit bars, restaurants, hotels, etc all over the city verse most all other fanbases that just stick to downtown since CWS moved from Rosenbalt. Basically from an Omaha perspective, LSU is a rising tide that raises all ships.

Geaux Tigers! We coming!

looks like it's about 4 miles from the stadium and an 8 minute drive.

Yea, this goes way back to Skip's WS teams. LSU fans out numbered, by far, all the other teams' fans & at times the stadium was almost 9o% LSU fans counting the locals who backed the Tigers. Tiger fans swarmed the bars & restaurants & the grocery stores as well. At least 1-2 times LSU hosted the owners of Barrett's in B.R. for a football game. The town has been called Alex Box North for decades now.

Hanagriff dancing on a table there when we won one in the 90s certainly helped with advertising.

It’s not walking distance. It used to not be walking distance to Rosenblatt either.

Barretts has been the LSU hangout as long as I can remember and well before I was going to Omaha.

When LSU went every year half of Omaha would cheer for LSU and they loved to see us make it. The only team I have seen them cheer for more is when Nebraska made it there in 2001.

It’s a little different now since we aren’t there as frequently, but there are still a bunch of people glad to see us there, and at the top of that list is Barrett’s.
