Are you serious? VG was in the backfield most of the game, and Stewart was on his heels/All in all Steward did not handle VG, get that right.

Stats for the CG:
50 Gholston, V (Solo-2) (Asst-1) (Total-3)
The guy got a total of 3 tackles, guess he must have manhandled Steward.

I always feel bad for Stewart in these bashings he gets. He really was a great run blocker and had almost no experience playing his position (in games). Not to mention he probably would have been a much better guard then a tackle IMO.

Same here, the guy did the best he could. NC says it all.

the Carnell bashing pisses me off. the guy was a damn road grader and played with passion. he was inexperienced and managed to get in and start......that is talent folks. he was also victim of circumstance (i.e. next to Hitt). Putting both inexperienced linemen next to each other only shed a brighter light on their weaknesses. Their blitz pickups were picked on all year but did get better.

all in all they got better and we won the NC, so it is a moot point.

Sure, Carnel committed a lot of false starts, just like Big Herm did his first year on the line. Carnel sure turned it around for the BCS C.G. thought! He was GREEEEAT!

I'd like to thank Stewart for giving his best for the Tigers, He switched to a position and played with determination and improved as the season progressed. He may not be as gifted as some and had some breakdowns early but he played well enough to help the team win a national championship. We had a balanced offense that set a new offensive record. Not many players have accomplished as much even though some are given all world status.
Thanks to all the 07 Tigers you made us proud.

I will give stewart his credit. he played hard and was a very good run blocker. I liked him and with another year he would have been very good. That being said Barksdale is going to play on sundays unless he does something stupid. He could make all SEC as a Soph, probably wont but he will turn heads. BEAST

Nothing against Stewart. However, Barksdale challenged him for his postion and playing time as a true freshman. Barksadale is NFL first day material and going to be the OL corner stone for the tigers in years to come.

Stewart saved his best for last, in the NCG. He manhandled who ever was in front of him, sometimes knocking down 2 and 3 guys at a time.

He drove me crazy last year with those dam false starts. When he actually got off the ball on the right snap count he did pretty well. LSU will be better at this position this year.
