You all know thats how the BCS works! Top two teams play for the championship. I think we both found out who is the top team in the country.

Yes, the BCS says "every game counts", but in this case every game didn't count. You know, that whole Nov. 5th thing. Yes, bama was the better team yesterday but how is winning the rematch in the BCS format sensible? the only argument you gumps had to get into the game was that you lost the first one. so good luck arguing you were the best in the country. last night? yes. this season? 1-1

I don't like to discuss the fact that Bama didn't even win the SEC...it's just not fair.

Can we collectively agree to replace this discussion with the fact they didn't win their own DIVISION. It's more insulting that way.

I've been arguing with gumps all day saying that. You aren't the best in your division or conference, but you're the best in the nation. How's that work? I've yet to get a sensible reply to that.

This is what's so nonsensical about allowing a conference member to challenge their conference champion in the national championship. If the challenger wins they will always say "well of course we're also the best in our conference because we just beat you, despite your conference championship."

We will never be able to mention our 2011 SEC Championship without most people saying Bama was really the best team in the SEC, practically putting an asterix by our trophy. This should not have been allowed and I promise you if the roles were reveresed Bama would be screaming bloody murder.

A conference champion should be immune from being "one-upped" by a member of it's own conference. After all, I thought the regular season was sacred in the BCS system?
