Rules in favor of offenses to give the fans more “entertainment” have impacted the way a defenseman’s mentality/nastiness can be stripped from you.

I don't disagree with this.

Just as our world and society is trying to emasculate men, total BS. You don’t want to see young men’s lives or careers ruined but it’s the chance you take. It’s a rough world and game, the toughest survive.

I totally disagree with this.

It doesn't have to be either or. You can retain the spirit and fight of football without needlessly endangering player safety.

Are you saying that we should just accept people diving at someone's knees to take them out because 'it's a tough game'? Glenn Dorsey says "Hi".

Are you saying that we should just accept DB's going for the kill on defenseless receivers and accept the inevitable damage because 'it's a tough game'? Darryl Stingley says Hi.

What about the '70's high-low blocks and chop blocks that ruined so many players legs (and their careers)? Do you remember Conrad Dobler clubbing people over the head with his fake cast before the head slap was made illegal? What about Lyle Alzado and others that intentionally "met at the quarterback" to take him out of the game with an injury?

I could go on, but my point is you can do things to make the game safer without making it crappier just to increase entertainment value.

Like I said: if you want to watch a bloodsport, watch UFC.

Yes, tell me again why isn't Les coaching another team right now if he was so great?

Good point, but bad example. Les isn't coaching because he's a poon hound that couldn't keep his hands off the coeds. Kansas fired him because of his past, not because he wasn't taking them in the right direction.

That said, he wasn't at KU long enough to truly evaluate whether or not he'd matured his offensive philosophy to adapt to the modern game.

Oh, I forgot the obligatory "frick Chaz Ramsey".

And same goes for Dillon Day and Dallas Turner.

Hodson to Fuller vs Auburn.
Booty to whoever two point conversion vs TN.
Maybe the first time we had ever beaten TN. At least it made up for the infamous loss when Cannon failed cross the goal line.

I was in Bryant-Denny for the 2011 regular season victory. Unforgettable night. After the win, I staggered off the spiral ramps descending from the upper deck and fortuitously ran into the Golden Band as they did a victory lap around the perimeter of the stadium. Trailed in their wake with other LSU fans and had the fleeting sense of what it must have been like to be a conquering horde in ancient times.

The 2011 defense was one of the best I've ever seen in P&G. Only 2003 compares. I'll never forgive Miles for his atrocious, stubborn, dunderheaded, backwards, drooling gameplan in the NC. Ruined what would have arguably been the greatest season in CFB history. I will never be as angry about any sporting event as I was when I left the Dome that night.

I miss having dominant safety play.

Laron, Steltz, TM7, Eric Reid, Jamal Adams, Grant Delpit.

We've gone five years now without a true game changer at that position. Hopefully Spears can be that guy
